Dear patients and partners in health,
We are fully aware of the constantly changing COVID-19 situation around the world as well as its impact locally in San Francisco, this is surely an unprecedented time for everyone, filled with fear and uncertainty.
We at OrthoCare & Sports Physical Therapy Inc. are committed to restore and promote the physical well beings of all our patients, but we also want to do the right thing at this critical time without jeopardizing the health of our community. We therefore had either canceled or rescheduled all of our current patients’ appointments since the past Tuesday (3/17/2020) as the first response to the Shelter in Place order imposed by the City of San Francisco.
However, we have also recognized the need of some patients who may be suffering an acute condition and just have an operation requiring immediate attention. Starting this week, our clinic will re-open in a very limited capacity and are taking patients on a case by case basis. If you are post-operative and needs to be seen immediately, or suffering from an acute condition, and NOT considered at high risk (i.e. older than 60 years old and/ or immuno-compromised), please give us a call. Do understand that we are only operating in a limited capacity, so feel free to leave us messages, or email us, and we will get back to you the soonest we can.
We also want to let you know that we have taken all necessary measures in order to keep our patients and clinic staff safe.
1. As you may know, Dr. Chan usually only attends to one patient at any one time, but we will limit the total number of people (patients and clinic staff) in the clinic to no more than 4 at any one time.
2. We recommend anyone entering the clinic to sanitize their hands immediately and to wear gloves during the clinic visit.
3. All patients will be screened over the phone to ensure they do not have fever, or potential exposure to or symptoms of COVID-19 prior to coming to the clinic appointment.
Concurrently, we will also start launching a telehealth platform (with video/ phone conferencing) for eligible individuals. You may make use of this specific technology to be in contact with Dr. Chan for specific questions, home treatment and exercise recommendation in order to manage your condition at home.
Once again, Dr. Chan and his staff will continue to be in touch with all our patients so that you may keep up with your progress while being sheltered at home.
