Considering a facelift or neck lift after one or more thread lifts? 🤔
It’s a topic more patients are asking about, and for good reason. Thread lifting has grown in popularity as a minimally invasive way to refresh the face and neck, but long-term tissue effects from prior threads can influence later surgical plans.

According to recent research, tissues altered by thread lifting, including scarring, fibrosis, and changes in layer mobility, can make a subsequent facelift or neck lift more technically challenging and require even more thoughtful surgical planning.

That’s why working with a highly experienced, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who understands both thread lift anatomy changes and advanced facelift techniques is so important! 😌

✨ Whether you’re planning your first facelift or considering revision after threads, expert guidance is essential for safety and beautiful outcomes.

Recovering from breast surgery doesn’t have to mean discomfort and confusion about what to wear! 💕
In a new article from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, experts (including Dr. Karen Horton) break down how compression bras and postsurgical garments can support healing after breast augmentation, lift, reduction, or reconstruction.

Medical-grade compression bras aren’t just “bras”, they gently minimize swelling, support healing tissues, and help your results settle beautifully. Bras with front closures, broad straps, and soft, breathable fabrics like cotton or modal offer day-to-day comfort while avoiding irritation around sensitive areas.

As Dr. Horton often shares thoughtful garment choices–from the first compression bra to your transition back into regular supportive bras–can make recovery more comfortable and even more confident. ✨

Curious about what’s next in Plastic Surgery? 🌟 From regenerative aesthetics to refined approaches that prioritize natural, long-lasting beauty, the landscape of Plastic Surgery is evolving — and 2026 promises exciting trends.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the next year is shaping up to emphasize preservation, regeneration, and subtle enhancements over dramatic transformations. Patients are looking for treatments that support youthful vibrancy, encourage proactive “prejuvenation,” and blend surgical and non-surgical approaches for balanced, harmonious results.

Trends include:
- A focus on regenerative tools like PRP, exosomes, skin boosters, and biostimulatory fillers ✨
- “Prejuvenation” — early, subtle treatments to maintain skin and facial harmony
- Increased interest in post-weight-loss contouring and body refinement
- Smaller, anatomy-first breast enhancements and natural proportions

Whether you’re planning surgical or non-surgical care, staying informed about upcoming trends empowers smarter decisions with your provider.

What’s the top 1 thing you can do to prepare yourself for ???

When preparing for Plastic Surgery, I always recommend regular exercise to my patients. It’s crucial to get your heart rate up and your body used to being challenged because surgery can be a shock to the system. If you’re physically fit and accustomed to exercise, your recovery will be much smoother. I suggest engaging in 30 minutes of exercise, 3 to 5 times a week, along with maintaining a stable weight and a healthy diet. This approach helps your body handle the stress of surgery and promotes a quicker recovery.

Aesthetic goals change over time, and that’s perfectly normal. According to data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the most popular Plastic Surgery procedures vary by age, reflecting how priorities evolve at every stage of life.

From:
👙 Breast Reduction for teens seeking comfort and confidence
💫 Breast Augmentation in the 20s and 30s for balance and proportion
🔥 Liposuction in the 40s and 50s to refine stubborn areas
👀 Eyelid Surgery later in life for a refreshed, well-rested look

As a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Karen Horton sees these trends firsthand, and believes the most important factor isn’t age, but individual goals, anatomy, and lifestyle.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to looking and feeling your best. ✨
Every plan should be personalized, thoughtful, and designed just for you.
