Have you noticed feelings of depression creeping in around the holidays or the darker, colder season? This is incredibly common, and sometimes can be resolved with lifestyle changes and therapy. But if you feel like you’ve tried it all, and your depression isn’t lifting, it may be that your thyroid is at play.

Your thyroid has a major role in regulating mood, energy, motivation, cognition, and emotional stability. Thyroid hormones interact directly with neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. When thyroid function is low or imbalanced, it can create or intensify symptoms of depression, anxiety, brain fog, apathy, and fatigue.

What makes this tricky is that many people with thyroid dysfunction still fall within the “normal” lab range yet experience very real symptoms. In these cases, antidepressants may offer little relief because the underlying hormonal and metabolic stress remains unaddressed.

Mental health is not “all in your head.” It is deeply connected to your hormones, metabolism, immune system, and nervous system. Looking at the full picture can change everything.

Feeling like it’s finally time to look at your thryoid more closely? Book a complimentary Discovery Call at the link in our bio to see if Nova Wellness can help you get to the root!

The first Monday of 2026, as we return to work and the kids go back to school, is a great time to check in with yourself.

How can I create a week that supports me?

As this new year begins, consider what you want to feel and create: health, joy, connection, presence, impact.

Rather than aiming for a “great start” to the New Year, ask a deeper question:

What actions would support the life I want to live right now? How can I create a week that supports me to live the life I desire?

12/31/2025

How many times have you crossed into the new year with high hopes for what’s ahead, arming yourself with an ambitious New Year’s resolution… only to fall off the wagon a few days in and already feel defeated? You’re not alone. This is such a common story, and it often comes with a lot of disappointment. We get it!

We all want to feel better, healthier, more focused, and more committed to our goals. The new year can be a beautiful moment to recommit to yourself. But what if you shifted the message just slightly? By setting an intention rather than a resolution, you create space for possibility instead of rules to live up to.

So, what are you intending for the new year?

For many people, moving toward better health does require a deep reinvention, but not through punishing plans, extreme restrictions, or “all-or-nothing” thinking.

Real transformation is quieter than we’ve been taught.
It looks like daily consistency.
It looks like learning your body’s language.
It looks like asking good questions.
It looks like choosing sustainability over perfection.

Your body responds best to deep transformational change, not quick fixes or fad diets.

If you’re looking for personalized support to help you move toward consistent and sustainable better health, book a Discovery Call at the link in our bio. We’ll take time to get to know you and explore whether Nova Wellness is a fit for you and your health goals.

The family’s around. The calendars are fuller. The pressure of holiday expectations is high. The emotions are louder.

The end of the year doesn’t just stir excitement. It stirs the nervous system.

If you’ve been feeling wired, heavy, overstimulated, or unusually exhausted this week, your body is responding to a real increase in sensory, emotional, and energetic input. That’s not weakness, that’s biology!

This season, support your nervous system like you would a dear friend:
- Prioritize sleep over scrolling
- Say yes to slower
- Eat organic whole foods where possible
- Touch the earth when you can
- Ask for help before overwhelm sets in
- Take some time for rest: Take a nap, set some time aside for yourself- a quiet walk, a yoga class.

You don’t need to earn rest. Your body already deserves it. How are you prioritizing your needs this holiday season?

Many of our clients come to us not just because of their symptoms, but because of how those symptoms begin to shape their daily life.

Difficulty focusing at work, stepping back socially, feeling less present with loved ones, hesitating to travel, or noticing changes in intimacy. These experiences are real, and they carry an emotional weight that often goes unseen.

And for many, the hardest part is not understanding why any of this is happening.

At Nova Wellness, we help you make sense of what your body is trying to communicate so you can move forward with clarity, support, and a path that feels realistic and hopeful.

💚 If this resonates, you’re invited to book a Discovery Call to explore whether our approach is the right fit for you. (Link in Bio)

“Awareness is one of the first ways to start to work with any issue you have. For example, when dealing with chronic fatigue, I may recommend people do an ‘energy inventory’ and start to notice what things in their life are giving them energy or pulling away their energy. I will ask them to notice which foods make them feel better, or what time of day they have more energy. I’ll ask them to notice any patterns and bring awareness to the things that fill them up.

Additionally notice which things are pulling away their energy. For example, conversations they have, people they’re with, the work you do, thoughts they’re having or parts of their menstrual cycle.”

If you’ve been feeling like you can’t keep up at work, burned out no matter how much you rest, socializing less because you don’t have the energy, or struggling to be fully present with your kids, you’re not alone and this workshop was made for you.

Last month, we hosted this event in SF and welcomed a community of people who were finally able to put language to their symptoms and understand the why behind how they’ve been feeling!

Tomorrow, we’re bringing that same experience online so you can join from wherever you are!

In this workshop, Dr. Jen Mann will walk you through how to understand your labs, support your thyroid, and reconnect with your body’s signals.

At Nova Wellness, we believe that healing should feel grounding, hopeful, and accessible. If you’re ready for clarity and real next steps, we’d love to have you with us!
