Yoga teacher training at Folk Yoga is more than learning poses - it’s an invitation to deepen your practice and discover what yoga truly means to you.

For Audrey, it began in Savasana - the quiet realization that this practice is meant to be shared. Our 200HR YTT offers the tools, confidence, and support to turn that feeling into action.

Through the training, you learn not just how to teach, but how you want to teach - finding your voice, shaping your style, and learning how to share yoga with friends, family, and future students. By the end, you’re prepared to audition at studios and step into teaching in a way that feels authentic and aligned.

Excited to find out more? You’re in luck! Our Spring 200hr Teacher Training is open - don’t miss our early bird special discount with $600 off (ends March 1st!) Find out more or book a call with us.

We are committed to making yoga more accessible! Our scholarship supports members of the global majority/BIPOC communities who are experiencing financial and social barriers to receiving an education in yoga. We offer full and partial scholarships for each training.

Hear from two of our BIPOC graduates, Kelly and Shawn Jr:

Kelly Han, Class of 2025 Summer (Full Time):

"I chose to complete my 200-hour training at Folk Yoga because it allowed me to be deeply immersed in San Francisco, connect with my local yoga community, and learn from teachers I truly admire—both for who they are and for the practices they share. Folk offered exposure to a wide range of instructors, which gave me the opportunity to absorb different perspectives and begin shaping a personal practice that felt most aligned.

In the 200 hour training it felt like I was broadening my scope as I learned about breathing techniques, healthy eating, muscle & anatomy, and had the chance to delve deeper into each posture and my practice. I think most folks enter yoga through movement, whether its from injury or to get a good workout in, and most people stay as they begin to derive benefits mentally and spiritually. For myself, if I had to sum it up simply, I do it because I like the way it makes me feel, and the 200 hour training at Folk Yoga is a huge part of that."

Shawn Jr, Class of 2024 Fall (Part Time):

"Completing my 200hr YTT at Folk was truly a transformative experience. I began training to deepen my own practice. During training however, due to the support of instructors and space held by fellow trainees, I felt seen, encouraged and empowered to teach. I wouldn’t be the teacher I am today without the well rounded foundation that I learned during that time. If you are thinking about training at Folk, let this be a sign to go for it :)"

Yoga invites grace, art, and dance into our lives in a way few other movement practices do. It’s not about perfection or performance, but about moving with awareness, finding rhythm in breath, and letting the body express itself freely.
