Celebrating a powerful week of advocacy in Sacramento!

Edgewood leaders joined partners at the California Alliance of Child & Family Services in Sacramento to advocate for policies that put children, youth, and families first, from strengthening the behavioral health workforce to expanding crisis services and housing for Transitional Age Youth.

Our CEO and senior program leaders lifted up what we see every day on the ground, calling for systems that truly support young people with the care and stability they deserve. We’re grateful for the opportunity to meet with staff from the offices of Senator Josh Becker, Assemblymember Diane Papan, and Senator Scott Wiener, and for partners and lawmakers who are listening and taking action.

Spring is here, and we’re focused on beautifying our beloved Edgewood campus. 🌱💙

Last month, volunteers came together for a Beautification Day, brought together by Ashley, SiriusXM, Pandora, Noah Kahan’s the Busyhead Project, and Give To Get during Super Bowl Week. They spent their time painting and transforming our outdoor spaces so youth and families have welcoming, healing environments to learn, play, and grow.

We’re so grateful to everyone who rolled up their sleeves to help our campus shine, inside and out.

For 175 years, Edgewood has provided the people, place, and path for exceptional youth mental healthcare, offering crisis support, school-based services, family programs, and more for thousands of Bay Area kids and caregivers each year.

On Edgewood Day, we honor that legacy and recommit to showing up for young people whenever they need us most.

To kick off 2026, our incredible Auxiliary hosted Shine in the New Year at Edgewood ✨, a celebration for youth on campus, complete with hair stylists and a barber, beauty products from Project Glimmer, nail art, face masks, flower vases, and spirited games of bingo.
It was a joyful chance for clients and staff to relax, be pampered, and look ahead to all that 2026 will bring. Huge thanks to our Auxiliary and partners for helping our young people start the year feeling seen, celebrated, and cared for.

Wishing our Edgewood community a hopeful New Year. 💙

As we close out 2025, gratitude is front and center—for the children, youth, and families who trusted us with their stories, and for the donors, partners, volunteers, and staff who made healing possible this year.

In 2026, Edgewood will celebrate 175 years of serving Bay Area children, youth and families, continuing to provide the people, place, and path for exceptional youth mental healthcare across the region. Thank you for walking alongside us and believing that every young person deserves safety, support, and hope.

From all of us at Edgewood: Happy New Year. 💙

At this time of year, we’re reflecting on the power of simply showing up and never giving up. 💙

Two years ago, De’Andra’s 9-year-old daughter lost her father and was overwhelmed by grief. As a single mom who had also experienced loss young, De’Andra recognized her daughter’s pain but felt helpless to reach her.

Everything began to change when her daughter connected with Edgewood’s School-Based Behavioral Health Services and met Wendy, a caring clinician who helped her learn to trust again, share her feelings, and find her smile.

Thousands of youth across the Bay Area are carrying anxiety, grief, and trauma that’s too heavy for young shoulders. Your support helps Edgewood meet them where they are, with consistent, compassionate care that helps them heal.

💙 Read their story and help us reach more youth and families in 2026: impact2025.edgewood.org

168 Years (Young).

TRANSFORMING LIVES. RESTORING HOPE.

Founded in San Francisco in 1851 as a refuge for orphans of the Gold Rush, Edgewood is the oldest children’s nonprofit in the western U.S. Today, Edgewood operates residentially-based, community-based, and school-based programs throughout San Francisco, San Mateo, and Alameda counties, among others.

Edgewood Center for Children and Families has a bold vision: Success is within the reach of every child. Children deserve a safe place free from abuse and neglect where they can learn and grow.

By taking an individual and family-centered approach, Edgewood is able to help thousands of children, youth, and their families each year who are struggling with mental health challenges, achieve their potential.
