I am excited to share that my case report on the successful treatment of the neuropsychiatric symptoms of agitation, anxiety, apathy, insomnia and depression in Alzheimer's disease with Traditional Chinese Medicine (also known as East Asian Medicine) has been published in Advances in Integrative Medicine. This case highlights treatment of an 86 y.o. woman in a nursing home setting.

Acupuncture isn’t just for humans! This sea turtle is receiving acupuncture as part of integrative medical treatment for difficulty opening his mouth.

“While acupuncture isn’t commonly performed, we have used this treatment successfully in the past with other reptiles like snakes and lizards," said Dr. Aimee Berliner, director of Animal Health and Welfare at the National Aquarium. "We’re so pleased to see Bassoon’s progress and look forward to the day when we can return him to his ocean home."

“Initially, Bassoon was receiving acupuncture treatments daily, but within the past few weeks, he has made enough progress that the treatments have ceased. He can now fully open his jaw and is successfully foraging on his own after weeks of tong-assisted feedings.”

A sea turtle that arrived at the National Aquarium unable to fully open its mouth to feed itself is on the mend after receiving acupuncture, among other innovative treatments, from the Aquarium’s Animal Health and Rescue teams.

Honored that a patient of mine from many years ago (who has long since moved away from the Bay area) recommended to Justin Bieber on Instagram that he seek treatment from me for his current condition of Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a type of facial paralysis. I treated her for a similar condition of facial paralysis, Bell's Palsy.

Happy lunar new year of the Water Tiger! Big news: I moved my office a short distance from my former location to 459 Fulton Street, Suite 104, in Hayes Valley. Today was the first day seeing patients in the new space and I already am enjoying the quiet, larger space. Patients gave positive reviews, too!

I have used Cloud of Protection as an office spray for many years. The company is woman-owned, a small operation started in Oakland and now based in the Lost Coast of Northern California. When I ordered more recently, I learned it is 65% alcohol and thus can be used as a hand sanitizer, too! Bonus.
