Presented in English, Spanish, and Cantonese!

Many children experience mental health challenges that affect their learning and participation at school. These needs are often invisible or misunderstood, but schools can—and are required to—support students beginning at age 3. This workshop explains how mental health needs may show up at school and the range of supports available, including IEPs, 504 plans, behavior support, counseling, accommodations, and other interventions. Families will also learn practical strategies to advocate effectively so their child’s needs are recognized and addressed and educational access is protected.
