"Whenever I give a lecture on Quantum Physics, I feel as if I am talking Vedanta. I studied matter for the last 35 years, only to find out that it does not exist! I have been studying something that does not exist." ~Dr. Hans-Peter Dürr

"Where do you see yourself in five years?"

I don't. I see myself now.

Being alive is the willingness to continually reassess, rename and reset. Nothing is ever as it seems, and all names and stories are impermanent.

"Scientists believe they have identified the oldest fossils on Earth, dating back at least 3.75 billion years and possibly even 4.2 billion years, in rocks found at a remote location in northern Québec, Canada, according to a new study.

If the structures in these rocks are biological in origin, it would push the timeline of life on our planet back by 300 million years at a minimum, and could potentially show that the earliest known organisms are barely younger than Earth itself. Such a finding would have major implications for understanding the emergence of life on Earth, and could also inform the search for aliens on other worlds."

Scientists present more evidence for the oldest known fossils on Earth, which could bolster the search for alien life.

Those who see are quiet not because they are unsure of what to say, they are quiet because they are unsure of how what they see will be received. This means their work is in compassion.

Facebook reminded me of a post I made on my personal timeline on April 1, 2016. I'd recently lost my sister, my dog, my job and my wife. I was rapidly approaching the loss of my home. I was a believer in nothing, had no spiritual life to speak of, and was deep in the throes of addiction. I have no recollection of posting this, but three weeks later, I would land in the ICU. My loved ones were told that I would likely not survive, and if I did, an organ transplant would be necessary.

While unconscious in the hospital bed, I had a near death experience which shook the foundation of my being and set me on the path I'm on today. On the surface, this all sounds quite terrifying, but I look back on it all with nothing but the deepest sense of gratitude and wonder. It's clear to me now, that all of it was exactly as it had to be. In order to recognize the light, I first had to understand the dark. In order to become of service, I had to first experience utter helplessness. In order to know freedom, I had to surrender completely... In order to recognize the divine, I had to first deny its existence.

Here's the post. Some might say that I spoke and the Universe listened. Some might call it coincidence. I just call it Grace.

April 1, 2016:

Dear Universe,

I am officially humbled by you. You've won. I surrender. Uncle. Listen to me closely, now. I've learned that you can beat me, and I am a quieter and better man for it.

Now please get off my back. There is no logical reason to continue beating your superiority into my head. Please go bother that jackass Trump. He needs to be taught more than I do at this point.

Humbly,
-dsf

"If you end up with a boring miserable life because you listened to your mom, your priest, or some guy on television telling you how to do your s**t, then you deserve it." ~Frank Zappa

"Therefore when Tao is lost, there is goodness.
When goodness is lost, there is kindness.
When kindness is lost, there is justice.
When justice is lost, there is ritual.
Now ritual is the husk of faith and loyalty, the beginning of confusion.
Knowledge of the future is only a flowery trapping of the Tao.
It is the beginning of folly."
(Tao Te Ching, Chapter 38)

No one can "make you" feel anything. Only you have the power to do that. Own your emotions, question them... literally.

What are your emotions rejoicing? Look for other examples of that in your life. This is gratitude.

What are your emotions protecting you from? Why are you afraid of it? This is where vulnerability becomes strength.
