I have stumbled upon Dr. Alan Watkins' work via his TED talks and his Complete App. His approach promotes self-awareness via energy level and emotion. He recommends using coherent breathing to regulate heart rate variability. This approach can support emotional regulation and improved performance.

Back at high school! Our program in Daly City constructed 2 ropes courses in LA Honda and Daly City where we offer leadership training. Early research found that an intervention combining ropes course activities with adventure based counseling could help participants improve Tennessee Self-concept scores. I began building and running ropes courses in 1977. This experience has informed my study of psychology. I am grateful to have studied at GGU's MFT program which has helped me to be of better service.

I came across a talk by Tara Brach who provided a good adjunct to CBT at the point that automatic patterns of thought and behavior are triggered. She also did a good job describing some of the patterns in order to recognize that we've been triggered.

Awakening from the Trance of Fear with Tara Brach – Part 1 11/29/2017 While fear is a natural and intelligent emotion, when fear goes on overdrive, we are in...
