Celebrating Our Veterans in Song and Spirit
On this Veterans Day, we came together as a community to honor the brave men and women who have served our country.
A heartfelt thank you to Lovin’ Harmony for filling our campus with joy and nostalgia through their beautiful renditions of 1920s–1960s jazz and pop classics. Their close harmonies reminded us that music, like service, has the power to bring people together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebration of our veterans.

A Community of Compassion in Action
Every Saturday morning, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living hosts the Excelsior Community Food Pantry, a volunteer-run nonprofit providing essential groceries to hundreds of local families facing food insecurity.
The partnership began when the pantry suddenly lost its space. Thanks to a chance connection between a pastor and a rabbi, the Campus opened its doors, and a lasting relationship was formed.
Today, the pantry serves 350 neighbors every week. Pantry volunteers, students, families, seniors, and SFCJL residents, distribute fresh produce, grains, and proteins rain or shine. Rooted in shared values of dignity, compassion, and care for all, this collaboration reflects our mission to serve others with respect and heart.
Throughout November, our community has come together, thanks to our very own resident, Joan, who inspired and organized us to honor loved ones during Día de los Mu***os.
Joan reminded us that remembrance is a shared act of love. From decorating our ofrenda with marigolds to sharing stories, she helped us celebrate the beauty of memory, together.
At the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, we honor every life and every story that continues to shape our community. May their memories always be a blessing.

Research shows that community living can boost quality of life, health, happiness, and even longevity. Human beings are wired for connection. Shared meals, engaging activities, and spontaneous hallway conversations reduce loneliness and foster a sense of belonging. People discover new friendships that bring joy and energy to daily life.
Join gerontologist Amy LaGrant on Wednesday, November 12 from 11:30 –1:30pm for an engaging conversation on aging trends, family dynamics, and senior living options.
We’re proud to be featured in for our work, where we’re reimagining what senior living can and should be. More than a place to live, our campus is a community, one that is person-centered, celebrates connection, and embraces innovation to help older adults thrive.
This article, written by Adrienne Green, MD, highlights our commitment to transforming how society thinks about aging and building environments where people continue to grow socially, intellectually, spiritually, and physically.

We need to reframe senior living as a proactive, empowering choice, one that blends personalized health with hospitality, connection, and a sense of fulfilment.

As we enter Sukkot, a holiday of shelter, gratitude, and community, we are reminded of the importance of safety, care, and connection. This year, Sukkot carries a deeper resonance as we reflect on the fragility of peace in our world.
Building and dwelling in the sukkah reminds us that even in temporary shelters, we can find strength and hope. May this festival inspire us to nurture and protect one another.
Wishing our community a meaningful Sukkot filled with light, reflection, and togetherness.

This thoughtful op-ed from explores an issue many families face: the emotional and practical realities of finding the right memory care setting for a loved one with dementia.
On Campus, we see every day how specialized, compassionate support can help residents live with dignity and purpose, while giving families peace of mind.
OPINION: The first time I toured an assisted living home for my dad it felt like a betrayal. But getting him help was ultimately the best decision I could have made, Courtney E. Martin writes.
