The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) extends our thoughts and sympathy to the thousands of residents of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and Guam whose homes and lives have been impacted by Typhoon Sinlaku.

The HHS Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has activated the Emergency Prescription Assistance Program for residents of the Northern Islands, Saipan, Rota, and Tinian in the CNMI. This program ensures that individuals who:
· have been impacted by disasters and
· do not have health insurance
can access necessary medications and medical supplies – at no cost.

To check eligibility, medication and medical equipment availability, and find participating pharmacies, call the EPAP hotline at 855-793-7470 or visit the EPAP website at https://aspr.hhs.gov/epap/Pages/default.aspx

Our communities deserve better representation in breast cancer research.

April 9 is National AA and NHPI Women Equal Pay Day. Did you know that Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women are paid only 83 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men? Closing this gap requires better data, stronger protections, and policies that reflect the realities AANHPI women face at work.

National Public Health Week 2026 invites all to renew their commitment to strengthening the systems, science, and community partnerships that keep us healthy. Science is the reason most children live past the age of five and most adults live well into later life.
