📚🍎 Always learning, always growing! 📚🍎
Dr. Cao had an amazing opportunity to attend conference. Special thanks to Dan Houglum, MSPT, ATC/L, PRC for his valuable expertise. We appreciate your insights to help our patients more effectively together and to strengthen the connection between physical therapy and neuro-optometry.
✏️ “Our ‘postural print’, of upright forward reflexive predominant behavior is reflected by what we are doing with our feet, hands, eyes and chests to stay “balanced”, when moving to upright, becoming upright or leaving upright.”
✏️”Humans need optimal vestibular function for optical visual function. Finding an optometrist that prescribes for the former enhances the latter. Synchronous visual input, sequencing, executive function, attentive automaticity, and emotional regulation are all implicit timing events associated with visuo-vestibular-ambulatory function”
✏️“Ambient awareness of peripheral binocular exteroceptive input for interoceptive ‘central peripheral’ organization. Binocular divergence allows one to center the eyes beyond where one “knows” the object one is looking at, really is; and thus enhances stabilization and controlled upright performance.”
✏️“As we get older the more we rely on visual demand for visual processing from our feet for navigation.”
✏️”People with a lazy eye or strabismus have difficulty with dissimilar quality of images. People with ‘lazy foot’, or a foot that is rotated in or out compared to the other dominant supportive foot have difficulty with dissimilar quality of ground/floor alignments.”
Thankful to for their amazing hospitality.
Pleasure meeting and look forward to working together.
Grateful to for collaborating in the care of so many patients.
