Congratulations to Recreation Therapists Jen and Marybeth!

Valley Health Foundation is pleased to share that a grateful patient made a generous gift in honor of Jennifer Nee and Marybeth Winslow, who helped him in his care.

He wrote: “I wanted to give a special thank you to Jennifer and Marybeth. [I remember] Jennifer pushed me into going to an outing I initially did not want to do. Her persistence led to an exciting and tasty outing.”

Jennifer and Marybeth work as recreation therapists at the SCVMC Rehabilitation Center helping patients recover from life-changing injuries, illnesses, and other disabling conditions through recreational activities tailored to the patients’ interests and needs.

Congratulations to Angela Chang, OT, Rehabilitation Case Manager, on her retirement from the County of Santa Clara, California and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Rehabilitation. Angela joined SCVMC in 1995, in the Adaptive Driving Program, and over the next 13 years she treated countless patients throughout the hospital, spending most of that time in SCI, Neuro Outpatient, and Hand Clinic. In 2008, she transferred to the business side of VMC, first in Ambulatory Care Contracts and then in Business Development & Managed Care. In 2019, she transferred to the Rehab Case Management department, where her vast knowledge of insurance carrier inner workings and managed health care contracts has helped us navigate may healthcare changes.

Angela has provided direct and indirect care for thousands of patients and families who have come through SCVMC Rehab over the years. She plans to spend her newly found freedom traveling and backpacking.

Angela, we're going to miss your expertise and dedication to your patients and team! We wish you the best in your retirement.
