February is often considered the month of love. While many are savoring chocolates, admiring flowers, and swooning over poems, there are others quietly navigating a very different experience: missing someone they love.

In Lori’s latest article, she reframes grief as the feeling of having a piece of your heart missing, whether through death, divorce, distance, or other life changes. She offers gentle guidance on navigating grief, encouraging emotional honesty, self-care, and using meaningful expression as pathways toward healing.

At Christian Counseling Collective, we believe love is more than a romantic feeling, but a way of being that can be transformational.

Love looks like showing up for therapy even when it’s hard, offering yourself grace instead of criticism, repairing relationships with humility, allowing God’s compassion to steady your nervous system, and choosing connection over isolation.

Whether you are married, single, grieving, healing, rebuilding, or growing, you are deeply loved.

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at CCC! 💙

Dr. King’s life reflected a deep commitment to justice grounded in faith, care, and compassion for all people. As a Christian mental health community, we are reminded that healing and hope flourish where justice and mercy meet.

May we honor his legacy not only with our words, but with lives shaped by reconciliation, dignity, and love in action, today and always.

“He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” ~ Micah 6:8 ~
