Hello, November!

As the air gets crisp and the days grow shorter, I find myself thinking even more about how we sustain our inner light 🌟 especially as coaches and humans navigating a busy world.

For me, stepping into November means doubling down on my favorite nervous system regulation practice: my daily photo walk. 🚶‍♀️📸

It’s more than just a walk; it’s an intentional act of replenishment and grounding. As I move, breathe, and really see the world through my lens, something magical happens✨
💞Gratitude Ignites! My focus shifts to the tiny, beautiful wonders I might otherwise miss – the intricate patterns on a leaf, the buzz of honey bee, the silent strength of a tree. This immediately pulls my nervous system into a place of appreciation and safety.
💞My Body & Breath Reset! The gentle movement and fresh air are natural, powerful discharges for any accumulated stress, bringing me back into my body.
💞Connection Blooms💞Sharing these little moments of captured beauty on here is a way to spark conversation, feel validated, and appreciate our shared human experience. This, my friends, is a fundamental human need we often overlook.
You see, for us to fully flourish, follow our dreams, and enjoy a life well lived, we have to show up as our best selves 🌟 regulated, intentional, and connected. Only then can we genuinely say, "It was a life well lived." It is in this process, we show up so much better for others, helping them to feel loved and live well too 💞🙌🏽💞

Sharing a little good news💌The Invaluable Work of Restoration In the Ocean and in the Soul💞🌊💞

The most profound good news in the world is not just in what we fix, but in the enduring spirit of human ingenuity and compassion that drives the fixing. Right now, this spirit is hard at work on two fronts that speak volumes about our commitment to restoration.

🌊Out on the high seas, Dutch engineers are turning the tide on pollution. Their 600-meter-long floating system, powered not by fossil fuels but by the sea's own rhythm and solar energy, is an elegant marriage of technology and nature. It is a stunning example of innovation dedicated to the vast, shared task of healing our planet.🌎

This work proves that cleaning up the seemingly impossible, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch sometimes referred to as “Plastic Soup“, is achievable.💫🌊💫

😎🙌🏽😎An equally vital restoration is happening closer to home, not of the ocean, but of human potential.😎💫😎

This week, we celebrate the remarkable work of the College of Adaptive Arts(CAA) and its co-founders. While Dr. Pamala Lindsay is opening eyes at major education conferences, her co-founder, DeAnna Pursai, recently took their message to the global stage. 🗣️Her recent talk, such as the one at TEDxHelsinki, is a testament to the belief that the world needs to see the ocean of ability in every single person. CAA is successfully removing the institutional "plastic", such as, “aging out”, that holds back brilliant adults. The College of Adaptive Arts is creating a joyful, lifelong collegiate experience where hidden talents and abilities can finally flourish.💫🧑‍🎓💫

Both of these efforts,
🌎one global, one local🌏remind us that true change-making is about scaling up both our technology and our empathy. We are not only removing discarded nets from the water, but we are also weaving new nets of community and inclusion for one another. Collective restoration is the most beautiful news of all.💫🗣️🗞️🗣️💫

Moonlight Lullaby

Well, the sun is sinking low in the west,
As the day gently bows to the night’s soft glow,
But the moon is rising, a beacon of rest,
Illuminating the waters, putting on a show.
And this old world keeps turning, just as it should,
With the tides swaying gently, in nature’s own rhyme,
I hold onto love, in this moment so good,
In the dance of the waves, where we savor our time.

So close your eyes now, let the night enfold,
Feel the soothing rhythm of the ocean’s breath,
You can drift away, let your worries go cold,
In the embrace of the moonlight, there’s peace, not death. drkit
I may not know grand ballads or sing the blues,
But I can share this melody, soft and sincere,
A tune for the heart, for the moments we choose,
You can carry this song, even when I am not near.

Soon the dawn will break, with another new day,

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to forget the impact we have on others. As David Niven beautifully stated:

“You are not here just to fill space or to be a background character in someone else’s movie. Consider this: nothing would be the same if you did not exist. Every place you have ever been and everyone you have ever spoken to would be different without you. We are all connected, and we are all affected by the decisions and even the existence of those around us.”

As I celebrate my birthday month, I find myself reflecting on the lessons I’ve learned over the past few years. The loss of my father was a profound experience that shook my world, but through the grief, I’ve discovered valuable insights about living well and nurturing my mental health.

One of the most fascinating revelations has been the connection between our gut and our brain—a relationship that profoundly influences our emotions and mental well-being. Did you know that the gut microbiome plays a crucial role in how we feel? It’s amazing how interconnected our bodies truly are.

Throughout this week, I want to share what I’ve learned about this connection and how it can help us navigate our emotions, especially during challenging times. Here’s a glimpse of what I’ll be exploring:
