It's back to school time, let's celebrate learning!

Many children feel as though they should be able to master concepts quickly. It’s fine when this happens, but for most children and adults, we must put in the time, energy, and effort to learn new skills.
As a sports fan, I love pointing out that even start athletes need to practice when they’re not playing, and don’t always hit the basket, score the goal, or hit the home run.
Musicians, artists, professionals of all fields take time to master their craft and are always learning.
Let us all reinforce for children of all ages that the learning process is to be celebrated rather than rushed through

One result we've seen post-Covid is that many children aren't sure how to get to know their peers. Our colleague took a simple Jenga set, applied stickers with numbers and developed a list of questions that went with the numbers. As game pieces are pulled out, players take turns answering the questions, and thus get to know each other. Some examples are "What superpower would you like to have?" "Would you rather be an ant or a whale?" and "Hot dogs, hamburgers or neither?" It's a fun, simple way for people of all ages to connect.
