So yeah, we know that baby wearing supports infant development through co-regulation of the nervous system, reduced physiologic stress, improved attachment signaling, and decreased prolonged skull pressure that contributes to plagiocephaly. Upright positioning also provides vestibular and postural input essential for early motor development.
But honestly? When my kids were babies, I didn’t know all the science behind it. We just defaulted to baby wearing because they were more relaxed, slept better, and — if I’m being real — it let me be hands free so I could actually get things done.
Little did I know, I was supporting their nervous system development, their motor patterns, their skull shaping, and our connection in ways that go far beyond convenience.
Closeness isn’t just emotional — it’s neurobiological. 🤍
