RCSJ creates community that supports healing from trauma, addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges. Recovery Cafe San Jose is a healing community for those traumatized by addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges.

Recovery Cafe San Jose is founded on the belief that every human being is precious, worthy of love and deserving of the opportunities to fulfill his or her potential. In this loving community people who cannot afford long-term recovery services come to belong, heal and know themselves as loved.

In this sanctuary from the streets, the Cafe helps participants develop tools and access other community resources for stabilizing recovery. Meaningful daily activities and a positive community are powerful forces that help break the patterns and challenges of addiction, unemployment and homelessness.

Recovery Cafe San Jose is a place for:
• Those who have been recently housed and want to stay on track with their goals
• Those who complete residential treatment programs and need daily structure and support
• Those living with a diagnosis who need community to combat isolation
• Young adults dealing with the pressure to use substances to cope with life’s challenges
• Parents struggling with substance use who want to keep their families intact
• People living on the street seeking to make steps toward recovery and stability
• Those who are reentering the community from prison and seeking a sober and strong re-entry

As our community continues to face the challenge of increased drug use among young adults, and growth in the number of homeless encampments, RCSJ invests in daily, accessible, long-term recovery support to effectively address those challenges.

This is more than a milestone. It’s a moment that represents commitment, courage, and real transformation.

At Recovery Café San José, the School of Recovery is part of the journey every member steps into. It’s a commitment to show up, stay engaged, and grow through a rhythm of community, accountability, and personal development.

At the heart of it all are our Recovery Circles. Small, consistent groups where trust is built, stories are shared, and healing begins. This is where members set goals, support one another, and walk through life together in a space that is safe, honest, and deeply intentional.

Join us for Recovery Café San José’s 14th Annual Fundraiser, Opening the Door, on Thursday, April 9th at Scott’s Seafood Ballroom in downtown San Jose ✨

🕗 Doors open at 8:00 AM
🥐 Breakfast begins at 8:30 AM
🎤 Program runs from 9:00–10:00 AM

This morning will highlight the impact of 2025, feature the Café Community Chorus 🎶, and share powerful, real stories from members whose lives are being transformed through community ❤️ We’ll also honor this year’s Bridge Builder, Community Partner, and Volunteer of the Year.

Adrian is celebrating two years as our Resource Navigation Specialist! 🙌

Every week, Adrian is here at the café meeting with our members, helping with job applications, navigating housing resources, securing bus passes, and so much more. He doesn’t just hand out resources; he shows up, listens, and helps people access the support they deserve.

From career guidance to housing support to transportation access, Adrian is the person our community can count on. He’s a champion for connection, a mentor, and a true example of what it means to serve.

Thank you, Adrian, for two years of dedication. Here’s to many more!!

A Place to Belong and Grow

RCSJ is a healing community for those traumatized by addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges. We provide a refuge where members gather for group meals, participate in Recovery Circles, take classes to learn job and life skills, make connections to other community resources, and enjoy social activities in a safe, sober, and supportive environment. For those interested in joining our community, New Member Orientation is given each Tuesday at 1 PM. Plan to arrive by 12:30 to sign in and get lunch and stay til 2 PM.
