Founded in 1973, AACI serves individuals and families with cultural humility, sensitivity and respect, advocating for and serving the marginalized and ethnic communities in Santa Clara County, CA. Our many provide care that goes beyond just health, but also provides people a sense of hope and new possibilities. Current programs include behavioral and primary health services, substance abuse prevention and treatment, center for survivors of torture, shelter and services for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, senior wellness, youth programs, and community advocacy. 🎉 Exciting News! AACI has been selected as a featured nonprofit in this year’s Mercury News Wish Book!

Wish Book is an annual holiday fund drive that spotlights local nonprofits and shares powerful stories of neighbors in need across the South Bay.

Happy National Native American Heritage Month! ❤️

November is National Native American Heritage Month (NNAHM), honoring American Indian and Alaska Natives (AI/AN)’s diverse cultures, traditions, history, and societal contributions. This month provides an opportunity to educate about Native Americans, their unique challenges and barriers, and the impact of historical trauma, like colonization and genocide, on their communities.

We're taking a closer look at the Indigenous connection to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Abraham Maslow, one of the founders of humanistic psychology, “generously borrowed from the Blackfoot people to refine his motivational theory on the hierarchy of needs.” To learn more about this, follow the link below.
