Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today is a reminder that love appears in many forms, including self-love and self-care. Just like the messages on candy hearts, what we tell ourselves can be simple yet powerful.

So today, will you be mine(dful)?

❤️ Mindful that mental health is just as important as physical health.

❤️ Mindful of the ways we show up for ourselves and our community.

❤️ Mindful that reaching out for support is a sign of strength.

If you or someone you know needs support, we’re here. Find out more at www.momentumforhealth.org.

Part 1 kicks off this Saturday, January 24—here’s everything you need to know to join us for this important training.

A new year brings new opportunities to strengthen our community and care for one another in more informed, compassionate ways.

Mental Health First Aid is a two-part training that equips adults with practical skills to recognize signs of mental health and substance use challenges, respond with care during moments of crisis, and connect people to the support they need. It also emphasizes self-care, helping participants build habits that support their own well-being as the year unfolds.

Part 1 of the training takes place on January 24 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm PST. To receive certification, participants must attend both sessions, with Part 2 happening on January 31. Each session is four hours, with a break to step away for lunch.

Open to adults 18 and older, this two-part training offers a meaningful way to begin the year with new tools, deeper understanding, and a shared commitment to supporting friends, family members, neighbors, and the wider community.

Registration is required. To sign up, please contact Kennya Rodriguez at krodriguez@momentumforhealth.org

Today, we honor the incredible life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

His dedication to justice, dignity, and compassion reminds us of the importance of caring for one another and building communities rooted in equity, accessibility, and understanding.

Dr. King's teachings continue to inspire us in our work to build a healthier Santa Clara County for everyone.

Happy from all of us at Momentum for Health.

Now that the confetti has settled and the pace of the new year begins to take shape, it’s a meaningful moment to reflect on how we want to show up in 2026 — for ourselves and for one another.

A new year doesn’t erase challenges, but it does offer new opportunities to build understanding, strengthen connection, and prioritize our collective well-being in ways that are thoughtful and sustainable.

As we head into 2026, the calendar on the next slide highlights key behavioral health–related awareness days and months throughout the year.

These moments invite us to pause, check in with ourselves and others, and keep conversations around mental health and substance use going beyond a single day. See any others that could be added? Comment below!

To everyone who follows, supports, partners with, and believes in this work — thank you for being here with us. As we move forward, we’re grateful to continue this journey together, creating a healthier Santa Clara County for everyone.

Growing up surrounded by violence and pain, Rodney started experiencing mental health challenges, including paranoia and hallucinations, at a young age.

As an adult, he knew it was time to get help—not just to improve his own well-being, but also so that he could lead by example for his community.

Today, through his own dedication and the help of Momentum, Rodney feels like himself again. His main goal is clear: To inspire his children and entire family to seek help when they need it without the weight of stigma holding them back.

Help us support other amazing individuals like Rodney this giving season.

Holiday cheer arrived early at our Parisi House on the Hill program! Nurses from Good Samaritan Hospital recently spent the afternoon building gingerbread houses with clients and delivering toys and gifts for the season. 🎄

We’re grateful for partners like Good Samaritan who bring joy, warmth, and a sense of community to the moms and kids we serve—especially during this time of year! 🎁

Thank you to Good Samaritan Hospital for helping to make the season bright. ❄️

TW: This video mentions addiction.

After years of struggling with generational cycles of addiction, Stephanie came to our Parisi House on the Hill program in 2021–and now works there full-time!

Parisi House, which merged with Momentum in 2023, offers mothers like Stephanie a unique model for residential substance use treatment: Their children stay with them the whole time, offering moms a fresh start with plenty of resources and community and keeping kids out of the foster care system.

Today, Stephanie is raising two children with her partner, continuing her education, and helping other women transform their lives at the very place where she transformed hers.

Help us support other amazing individuals like Stephanie this giving season. Visit www.momentumforhealth.org/powerofmomentum to make a gift today!

In 2022, Santa Clara County officially declared a mental health crisis, driven by record increases in suicides and drug overdoses, a statewide shortage of behavioral health workers, and inadequate treatment facility beds.

That is why organizations like Momentum for Health are critical to the health and well-being of residents as it serves as the backbone of our community’s mental health network – providing treatment, crisis support, housing services, and compassionate care for people navigating some of life’s toughest challenges.

Thank you to Momentum’s staff for inviting my office to tour your facilities.
