Our office is growing and we are hiring!
We are looking for an office assistant/receptionist/optician. Looking for someone long term with the potential to grow into a managerial position. Prior experience working in an optometrist office a plus, but not required. Willing to train the right candidate. Must be a quick learner and willing to work hard. This can a be part-time or a full-time position.
The ideal candidate has the following characteristics:
-drive and motivation
-excellent communication skills with both doctors and patients
-excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation
-punctuality and very reliable work attendance
-honesty, maturity, and professionalism
-able to multi-task
Duties include but are not limited to (training provided):
- selling frames, lenses and coatings
- assisting optometrist
- answering phones, appointment scheduling, verifying insurance eligibility
- building customer trust and loyalty through high level of customer service
- authorizing and billing insurance claims
- maintaining accurate inventory, managing displays and general appearance of practice, and minimizing theft
- pretesting patients
- frame repairs, adjustments, eyeglass inspection, trouble-shooting, and dispensing
- contact lens training
- Greeting patients/customers and managing their flow through the office. Checking patients in and out
- Placing orders (contacts, sunglasses, frames, lenses)
- Maintaining order & cleanliness of office including vacuuming the floor and taking out the trash
- Calculate insurance co-pay based on insurance eligibility. Helpful if familiar with VSP, Eyemed, MES and some medical plans
- Process contact lens/spectacle/frame orders.
- Verify glasses and notify patients for dispensing.
