・・・
If we replace β€œwear and tear” with β€œrust” when talking about arthritis we can completely change the narrative, give people more hope, and help so many more of our patients toward recovery and relief.
Here’s an excerpt from one of our favorite authors and his book β€œPlaying with Movement”
β€œIn fact, moving too little may be as bad for our joints as moving too much. Running, which compressed discs, can make them stronger and healthier. Although running stresses the knee, it does NOT increase the risk for knee osteoarthritis. In fact, knee osteoarthritis rates increased drastically after 1900, when people started moving less. One study showed that modern skeletons had 2.5 times more knee arthritis than pre-industrial or prehistoric ancestors, who were far more active.
Thus, degenerative changes are not just about wear and tear, but rust. The healthiest amount of movement must somehow strike a balance between too much and too little.”

ME TIME is at a minimum these days with baby Obi at home and a thriving physical therapy business. So every minute is valuable to me, which means I really have to savor the 1.5 minutes I get to spend doing some heavy Turkish Get-Ups as my training for the day! πŸ˜‡
= a time to be present with my body and mind while moving with my buddy the kettlebell!

Part 1️⃣: Prep
For some people, this is the whole workout.
For some people, this is just the movement prep before the real workout.
The most important thing in my profession is to find people’s starting point and then get to work.
First find someone’s baseline, current capacity, or weak links and go from there!
Training is for EVERYONE, but everyone has a different starting point!
I’d love to help you find your starting point and help you achieve your goals, whether than be pain relief, strength, or athleticism based.
