Finding meaning in parenting a disabled child can help you build a bridge from the person you were before your child was born to the person who you are now and who you will become. It can reinforce a worldview, make a worldview crumble, or light a fire inside you. The question is, who are you? Who is the "whole you", in light of, not in spite of, your role as a parent to a disabled child? However you've changed; I hope gratitude is able to shine through all of your parenting struggles. It will be interesting to compare the money it takes to properly train a SPED teacher with the amount of money school districts spend on lawsuits. Clearly, the math hasn’t been done on this before canceling these grants.

The U.S. Department of Education is canceling millions in grants for special ed teacher training, parent resource centers and more saying that they don't align with Trump administration priorities.
