There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to food, fasting, or healing and that’s the problem with so many modern “plans.”

Every person’s biology is unique, and every stage of life brings a new hormonal landscape that demands its own strategy. What worked for you at 25 might completely backfire at 45.

Fasting is an incredible tool for healing. It teaches your body to repair and reset, but it’s only half of the equation. The other half is true nourishment. You have to feed your body deeply with the minerals, proteins, and whole foods it needs to rebuild.

Think of it like using the right tools for the right job, and knowing which jobsite you’re on. Your biology changes, so your strategy should too 🙌

Here’s a truth most women never hear: Menopause raises your risk for metabolic syndrome.

In simple terms, that means you’re more likely to see stubborn weight gain, rising blood sugar, higher cholesterol, increased belly fat, and blood pressure that suddenly creeps up, all because your hormones are shifting.

The good news? Your metabolism is absolutely rebuildable at any age and any stage.

I explain this in depth on my new YouTube video, search “Dr. Mindy Pelz Menopause Metabolism.”

11/22/2025

The idea that you have just one steady metabolism is a myth, your body actually runs on two powerful metabolic systems: one when you’re eating and one when you’re not.

You’re designed to switch between glucose-burning and ketone-burning, using food and fasting as complementary tools, not opposing ones.

When you’re constantly eating, you’re stuck in one gear. Your body never gets the chance to repair, regenerate, or tap into stored energy. But when you sync your eating and fasting cycles intentionally, you train your metabolism to become flexible, efficient, and deeply healing.

It’s not about deprivation. It’s about rhythm. Nourish, rest, repair, repeat.

If you want to burn more fat, here are the three simplest levers to pull:

✅ Sleep well: Nighttime is your natural fat-burning window. Better sleep makes for a better metabolism.

✅ Lower your stress: High cortisol makes weight stick. Calm your nervous system and your body will let go.

✅ Walk after meals: A 10–20 minute walk uses the glucose you just ate for energy, instead of storing it as fat.

Small daily habits. Big metabolic wins.

Cheers to the weekend ☕

This is the perfect time to slow down and nourish yourself with foods and rituals that feel good from the inside out. Instead of reaching for quick snacks or sugary drinks, try leaning into warmth and comfort.

These hormone-supportive recipes are designed to calm your nervous system, balance your blood sugar, and remind you that nourishment can be both healing and joyful. Light a candle, take a breath, and savor the grounding power of real food and mindful rest.

If you’re struggling with stubborn weight, here’s the truth:
It’s not a willpower problem, it’s a muscle problem.

When you eat protein, you turn on mTOR, your body’s growth switch.
That builds stronger muscles… which creates more insulin receptor sites. More receptor sites equals more “doors” for glucose to enter your muscles and be used as energy, not stored as fat.

But with less muscle? Glucose has fewer places to go, so your body stores it as fat.

Build muscle. Eat protein. Give your body somewhere to put the excess.

Let’s talk about it: what’s the boldest thing you’ve done since entering menopause?

Maybe you set a boundary that scared you, walked away from something that no longer fit, or finally started living life on your terms.

This season isn’t about shrinking it’s about expansion, truth, and unapologetic power. I want to hear your stories. Drop them in the comments below and let’s celebrate the women who are rewriting what this chapter looks like 👇

11/20/2025

Divorce rates initiated by women skyrocket during menopause. It’s not because women suddenly stop caring, it’s because they finally start caring about themselves.

During this phase, we’re profoundly changing, often without fully understanding what’s happening within us. The hormones that once drove us to nurture, please, and prioritize others begin to quiet, and in their place rises a deep desire to reclaim our time, our energy, and our identity.

That shift can be terrifying for partners who are still holding onto the version of us they met decades ago.

But life changes everyone, and relationships that survive this transition require communication, understanding, and empathy. When both people are willing to grow together, this new chapter can be one of the most honest and liberating seasons of all 💙

We’ve been taught to fear menopause.

To see it as the beginning of decline, as if our value fades with our hormones. But what if this phase isn’t about loss at all? What if it’s about coming home to yourself?

Menopause strips away what no longer serves you.

The people-pleasing, the overextending, the self-neglect.

So you can rebuild from a place of truth. This isn’t the end of your story; it’s the moment you finally get to live it on your own terms 🙌

We’ve been conditioned to see menopause as a medical condition. Something to medicate, suppress, or get through quietly. But what if the very symptoms you’re trying to silence are messages from your body, calling you into your next evolution?

This is not a problem to fix; it’s a power to harness.

You are becoming wiser, sharper, and more grounded than ever before. When you stop outsourcing your healing and start listening inward, you reclaim the authority that’s always been yours.

This is what it means to Age Like a Girl.

I can’t tell you how many women walk into my clinic with “perfect” lives on paper.

Great marriage.
Great kids.
Great job.
Great house.

Everything they were told would make them happy.

And yet… their eyes tell a different story.

They’re exhausted.
They’re overwhelmed.
They feel numb, irritable, disconnected — like they’re living someone else’s life instead of their own.

Here’s what I want every woman to hear:

There is nothing wrong with you.
You’re not ungrateful.
You’re not broken.
You’re not “losing it.”

You’re waking up.

Menopause and perimenopause often pull the curtain back on the parts of your life you’ve been too busy or too selfless to question.

Your brain starts asking new questions:
“Where am I in all this?”
“What needs have I silenced?”
“What version of me have I outgrown?”

In this week's episode on , I’m unpacking why so many women hit this hidden emotional wall, what your symptoms are really trying to tell you, and how this season of life is designed to bring you back to yourself, not take you down.
