Busy moms, we’re here for you! Our screening process is simple, safe, and designed with moms in mind. It begins with a brief phone call (available to schedule seven days a week!) where our friendly team walks you through a few health and lifestyle questions to make sure milk donation is a good fit. Once you’re approved, we’ll schedule your blood test at a convenient time.

The entire process is straightforward and supportive, and our staff is always ready to answer your questions. It’s a relaxed, welcoming experience where you can feel proud knowing you’re taking an important step to help fragile babies thrive.

In honor of International Women’s Week, we’re proud to partner with UCSF Medical Center to host a human milk drive celebrating generosity, care, and the collective power of lactating birth parents supporting families during their most vulnerable moments.

This event is more than just a drop-off! In addition to healthy snacks and lactation guidance, you’ll have the chance to meet UCSF Healthcare and other professionals for supportive conversations, resources, and community care. Participating teams include UCSF Family Services, Nutrition and Food Services, Family Health Care Nursing, and Women's Health Resource Center.

What the program provides:
• Up to 40 ounces per week for 2 weeks (maximum 80 ounces)
• Prescription or doctor’s note required
• Limited funds — early application encouraged

Upon becoming a Mothers’ Milk Bank California milk donor last year, Anna Pangilinan learned that she shares the title with her mom, Leslie, who donated to Mothers' Milk Bank California more than 30 years ago. The donor experience has been powerful in ways she never imagined.

“It’s hard to describe the desperation you feel when you can’t bring your baby home with you,” Anna shared about her days in the NICU with her son, June. In that vulnerable space, where every feeding feels monumental and every decision carries weight, Anna saw firsthand how critical donor milk can be. “If donating my milk can help even one parent feel less anxious about their baby’s health, it’s worth it.”
