This year’s International Women’s Day is all about - a philosophy that’s true every day for our donors and community.

Each and every milk donor gives a part of themselves so that other families gain the lifesaving nutrition their infants need to thrive. Whether you are a donor, a recipient, or a supporter, you are part of a cycle of empowerment that saves lives. We all gain because of what you give! đź’ś

“I saw myself pumping in the car on my way to work,” shared Melanie, a nurse who returned to work eight weeks after giving birth. “My job requires constant movement, and I had about ten minutes and my lunch break to find a space to pump.”

For many families, breastfeeding declines not due to a lack of effort or desire, but because workplace support and understanding are not always there when they are needed most.

"The gift that keeps on giving! After giving birth to my surrogate baby, I decided to donate my milk to Mother's Milk Bank CA. The journey doesn't have to end just because I gave birth. I found pumping so rewarding although tedious at times! | benefited so much from it, not only for my postpartum health, but also my physical health!”

Thank you Norma Harris-Allen for giving the gift of your liquid gold! To learn how you too can make a difference for the most vulnerable infants, visit mothersmilk.org/donate or the link in bio.

History is built on community. To the mother pumping at midnight, the donor driving to a drop-off site, and the grieving mother donating in honor of her angel: You are making history. Your generosity is changing the life story of a premature infant. Happy to the heroes in our community.

Over the past month, we asked our milk donors to “Share the Love” in the form of personal stories and words of encouragement in notebooks that were passed from cooler to cooler, donor to donor.

Wow, did they deliver! This ripple effect of love and support was felt by so many. Never doubt how much your words matter!

Busy moms, we’re here for you! Our screening process is simple, safe, and designed with moms in mind. It begins with a brief phone call (available to schedule seven days a week!) where our friendly team walks you through a few health and lifestyle questions to make sure milk donation is a good fit. Once you’re approved, we’ll schedule your blood test at a convenient time.

The entire process is straightforward and supportive, and our staff is always ready to answer your questions. It’s a relaxed, welcoming experience where you can feel proud knowing you’re taking an important step to help fragile babies thrive.
