🙌 Achieve Your Parallel Crease Goals with Expert Asian Eyelid Surgery in San Jose! ✨
Discover the transformative difference of incisional Asian Eyelid Surgery (also known as double eyelid surgery or Asian blepharoplasty) with the expert hands of Dr. Chase Lay, MD, a renowned facial plastic surgeon specializing in Asian aesthetics, whose practice is located in San Jose, California.
Dr. Lay utilizes the incisional anchoring technique to create a defined and long-lasting double eyelid crease. This highly effective method involves making a precise incision, which allows for the careful removal of excess skin and fat, and the meticulous anchoring of the new crease to the underlying structures (like the tarsus or levator tendon). For patients seeking a parallel crease—where the eyelid fold runs parallel to the lash line from the inner to the outer corner—this incisional technique is often the most stable and effective approach.
The process is highly customized to each individual’s unique anatomy and desires. Whether you’re aiming for a subtle enhancement or a more noticeable change, Dr. Lay’s philosophy ensures the results are always in harmony with your overall facial features. While the parallel crease offers a distinct and often more dramatic look, the focus remains on achieving an outcome that is natural-looking, beautiful, and preserves your personal and cultural identity. His extensive experience ensures the new crease is stable, well-defined, and beautifully complements your eyes, giving them a brighter and more open appearance.

This patient’s droopy eyelid was due to a stretched, thin levator tendon. The condition was expertly corrected by Dr. Chase Lay, MD, a specialist in Asian eyelid surgery with over 15 years of experience in San Jose, California.
The procedure used an external approach under local anesthesia for precise results. Recovery is manageable:

* Sutures are typically in place for only one week.
* Patients can ease back into working from home after a few days.
* Return to social activities in approximately 2 to 3 weeks.
* Resuming most physical activities after two weeks.

Dr. Lay knows that perfect symmetry is never possible, but he strives for subtlety and a beautiful, natural appearance in every case.

The majority of the time Asian eye surgery is not about making large obvious changes that alter the aesthetic and overall presentation of a person’s eyes and face. In fact, most patients are seeking to enhance the natural anatomy and beauty that they already have or improve on some asymmetries. This is an example of an incision and anchoring technique Asian eyelid surgery by Dr. Chase Lay. This result is a little over three months after surgery. Most patients still have signs of surgery up until 4 to 6 months with red incisions and sometimes bumpy incisions. This asian Blepharoplasty was performed 100% under local anesthesia.

Every week a patient talks to me about something called non-incision Asian eyelid surgery or scarless Asian eyelid surgery… I assure you that is not a thing. Suture technique or less invasive techniques are over 200 years old so there’s nothing new. These shortcuts more often are less effective than incision technique. And everything that is surgical related to the eyes has an incision of some sort even if they’re very small, there’s still an incision. there are techniques for double eyelid creation through which you enter the conjunctiva or the mucosal layer of the eyelid that is up against the eyeball, but even then with no incision on the outside on the skin, there is still an incision somewhere and in this case on the inner layer of the eyelid.
