Dogs and cats have a much higher sense of hearing than us humans do. While we may hear fireworks as musical pops, our pets experience them with much higher intensity. 🎆

As with thunder and lightning, the loud booms of fireworks are unpredictable and cause a lot of confusion for our pets. Cats and dogs cannot understand what is happening when they hear fireworks, which instinctively triggers their fight-or-flight response to unknown threats. 🙀

A few clients have received messages claiming their lost pet was found and being held at our hospital, with a request for payment before they could get their pet back. These messages are not from us — it’s a scam.

We want to reassure you: we would never hold a pet or ask for money in that way. If your pet is ever in our care, you’ll hear directly from our team, and we’ll handle everything personally.

If you get a message like this:
🚫Don’t send any money.
📞Call us so we can help you sort it out.
🚨Report it to local authorities to help protect yourself and others.
