At its best, work can provide us with great meaning. At its worst, it can become a suffocating or addicting grind that reduces the quality of our lives.

My colleague, psychologist, TED speaker, podcaster, and author Dr. Guy Winch, wrote an outstanding book called “Mind Over Grind: How to Break Free When Work Hijacks Your Life.” He and I spoke about it on the latest episode of the SuperPsyched Podcast, and you can listen here or anywhere you listen to podcasts:

Even under the best of circumstances, being a mom can be very hard. Social comparison, overwhelm, and all types of self criticism can lead to shame and other toxic internal outcomes. To address this, my outstanding colleague, psychotherapist, and author Rebecca Geshuri, M.A., LMFT, PMH-C, wrote a book called When Good Moms Feel Bad, tuning into the needs of a mom applicable to any stage of mothermood. The book reads like a gentle and loving conversation from a friend. She and her co-author integrated the wisdom of a state of the art Psychotherapy approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS), to positively strengthen moms in their vulnerable roles. And since vulnerability is a precursor to courage, this book bolsters courage! Listen in to very thoughtful and helpful conversation with Rebecca, here, or on any podcast platform:

IRL is pretty great!

Last night I got to hang with one of my favorite podcast guests, thought leaders, and friends. Until last night, it was a coast to coast, “Zoom-only” relationship for a few years. You may know her, and if you don’t, definitely geek out to the writing of the great Dorie Clark! She’s awesome and I can say confidently, she’s even better in person!

I recently heard my latest guest on my latest episode on the Neil deGrasse Tyson podcast. He was so captivating that I hoped I could interview him as well!

So, with that, I am pleased to report that on the latest episode of the SuperPsyched Podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with acclaimed neuroscientist and Chief Science Officer at the Mind Science Foundation, Ben Rein, PhD. He wrote a book I loved called Why Our Brains Need Friends, and we talked about the directives from our human brains to seek out and maintain friendship.

Happy New Year!

It's been a great year for learning on the SuperPsyched podcast. To finish 2025, I thought I'd share a bit about a thing we all want more of: luck.

Ever notice how easy it can be to fall in love, yet how difficult it can be to maintain and sustain it?

How do we keep the love we want without getting in our own ways?

I had the pleasure of speaking to a seasoned couple therapist and my own teacher in a class called Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), Allison Howe. This outstanding approach was created by three-time SuperPsyched guest, Dr. Stan Tatkin. And in this very rich and user-friendly episode, you’ll learn from an expert ways to maintain and sustain love! Listen here, or anywhere you find podcasts: https://lnkd.in/gsmNa2zy
