Here are just a few of the knee strengthening exercises we use with our patients during different phases of their rehab plans:

1) Eccentric Single Leg Squat: great for building tendon tolerance and improving deceleration mechanics.

2) Spanish Squat: great for targeting the quads and improving knee stability.

3) Reverse Nordic Curl: great for building quad length-strength and improving knee tolerance.

4) Depth Drop: great for deceleration control and return-to-sport prep.

If a muscle constantly feels tight, stretching it over and over probably isn’t the solution.

In many active adults, tightness isn’t caused by a lack of flexibility. It’s a protective response. When a muscle doesn’t feel supported by enough strength or control, your body increases tension to create stability.

That’s why the tightness comes back shortly after you stretch.

Hamstrings, hip flexors, calves, neck, and upper traps are common examples. They often feel tight because they’re working overtime to make up for weakness or poor control elsewhere.

A simple way to tell the difference is this:
If stretching helps briefly but the tightness returns quickly, strength is likely the missing piece.

When you build strength through full ranges of motion and improve how your body controls movement, that protective tension no longer has a job to do.

Less tightness.

Better movement.

More resilient performance.

Your body is always adapting. The key is giving it the right input.

Your recovery just got an upgrade.

Infrared cupping combines decompression with gentle heat to help ease stiffness and improve mobility in overworked hammies.

A 2020 study in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy found that a single session of myofascial decompression (a form of cupping) produced similar immediate gains in hamstring flexibility as self myofascial release, with athletes reporting a greater perceived benefit from cupping.

And while that research used traditional cups (not infrared), we use both traditional and infrared cupping at Resolve, layered strategically into a comprehensive, evidence based treatment plan. 👇🏼

We often pair infrared cupping with adjustments, myofascial release, active rehab, and other research supported treatments to help you move better, recover faster, and stay performing at a high level.

Most people assume pain or tightness means they need more stretching, but that’s not always the case.

In fact, a lot of “tight” muscles aren’t tight at all. They’re protecting you because something else isn’t stable enough.

Understanding the difference between (getting into positions) and (controlling those positions) is one of the fastest ways to improve how you move and how you feel.

If you can’t physically reach a position, you likely need mobility.

If you can reach the position but can’t control it, that’s a stability problem.

When you match the right approach to the right problem, your training feels smoother, your lifts feel stronger, and those annoying flare-ups start to disappear.

Your body isn’t random.

It’s giving you feedback.

Learn to listen to it, and you unlock better , better performance, and a more resilient body overall.

If you’ve been dealing with a nagging Achilles, knee, shoulder, or elbow issue that keeps flaring up every few weeks, there’s a good chance the problem isn’t what you think it is.

Most active adults assume tendon pain = tendonitis (inflammation).
But more often, it’s actually tendinosis, a long-term breakdown of the tendon caused by repeated overload.

Here’s the key difference:
Tendonitis responds to rest. Tendinosis does NOT.

That’s why so many people get stuck in the cycle of:
rest → feel better → start training again → pain returns.

If you want long-term relief and to actually stay active, you need to know which one you’re dealing with because the treatment is completely different.

At Resolve Chiropractic, we take a performance-based approach to tendon pain:
✔ One-on-one assessment
✔ Clear diagnosis
✔ Personalized loading progressions
✔ A plan that gets you back to training and keeps you there

If you’re tired of the repeat flare-ups, we can help you break the cycle for good.
