Great meeting of the minds today at the Colab space for the shoulder think tank. We learned a lot from guest presenter Russ Petrie about his Suprascapular block technique. Great discussion about conjoint tendon release with reverse total shoulder replacement. Lots of debate on whether slings are needed after RTSA. NSAIDs don’t cause a problem for bankart healing or redislocatiom (but I’m not convinced and won’t be giving it to my patients). Internal rotation after reverse total shoulder replacement is affected by preop planning and glenoid overhang. For humeral head AVN, hemi may be our best option wou better rom and lower complications compared to total shoulder arthroplasty. Looking forward to our May meeting.
