Rally for a cause!

We’re excited for upcoming the 4th Annual Surf & Turf Therapy Pickleball Tournament - a high energy feel good day of friendly competition supporting our mission.

📅Saturday February 21st 2026
⏰8:00 AM to 3:00 PM PST
📍SJC Pickleball and Tennis Courts

The tournament will be run by Ronnie at offering Beginner and Intermediate levels of play so everyone can join in on the fun.

🏓Tournament Details

Two person teams
Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed divisions
Beginner and Intermediate categories
Two guaranteed rounds
Games played to 11 win by two

🏆Awards in every division!🥇

⏱️Play will be scheduled in two hour increments and you do NOT need to be present all day. Team play times will be sent out the week of February 16th.

When the weather shifts, we shift with it 🌧️➡️🧗‍♂️

Today our crew traded waves for walls at and all 14 surfers absolutely rocked it (🪨 pun intended)

Strength. Body awareness. Safety. Impulse control. Regulation. Confidence. Every climb builds skills that carry far beyond the gym.

Rock climbing gives our athletes the opportunity to challenge themselves in an inclusive space, immersed in the broader community and moments like this one (swipe for that smile at the top!) say it all.

Proud. Capable. Strong.

We’re so grateful to Hangar 18 for welcoming our program and the individuals we serve. They are a true example of seeing ability over limitation and creating space for athletes of all needs to thrive.

Today was a reminder that flexibility and adaptability aren’t just schedule changes, they are life skills. And our athletes continue to rise to the challenge every single time. 💙

📦 A little late, but still so grateful.

When we came back after the holidays, our office was stacked with boxes — all thanks to this amazing community fulfilling items from our Amazon wish list. Inside were enrichment tools for our horses, new therapy toys, medical and barn supplies, and everyday essentials that keep our programs running.

These gifts support our horses, our participants, and the behind-the-scenes work that makes everything possible.

As we look ahead to some big next steps for Surf & Turf Therapy, (stay tuned for some big announcements soon 🥹) moments like this remind us how lucky we are to be surrounded by such a generous, supportive community. 💙🐎

Ever wonder what happens over breaks? 👀❓

When sessions are closed for a few weeks, our team stays been busy behind the scenes getting everything ready for return.

At the barn, staff use the time to organize equipment, take inventory, tidy spaces, and make sure everything is set for a smooth return. Therapists and instructors also write reports and update goals.

Our horses also enjoy a slower pace with daily grooms, lots of attention, and a mix of gentle exercise to keep their bodies and minds feeling good. Their routines include hand walks, turnouts, rides, and ground driving sessions, balanced with plenty of naps and pampering time.

Rest, care, and preparation are just as important as the work itself, and we are so excited to bring all of this energy into 2026, which has already started off strong! 💪

There’s nothing better than surfing in the “off-season” - especially this amazingly warm winter - fewer crowds, beautiful waves, and high fives with the people who have your back, always.

Did you know we can offer group activities? These offerings are perfect for team-building, field trips, birthdays, scout groups, and more! 🤩🤯😮

Earlier this year we welcomed a Girl Scout troop to our barn for a hands-on horsemanship day 🤍

The girls learned all about what goes into caring for horses, including basic horse anatomy, grooming, and safe leading techniques. It was so fun watching them ask questions, build confidence, and spend time getting to know our herd.

We’re happy to host a limited number of small group horsemanship opportunities for Girl Scouts, school groups, and similar organizations. To learn more or inquire please contact our office at info@surfandturftherapy.org ✨

We had so much holiday cheer this year across all of our holiday events🎄✨

One of the highlights was our 2nd annual Holiday Party! A huge thank you to Agape 1928 for hosting us and to Tony Copp for making the event happen.

The celebration was filled with great company, festive fun, and a special visit from Santa that made the day even more magical for everyone who attended.

We also celebrated our 6th Annual Santa Paddle, led by volunteer Stacy Savage. The Santa Paddle raised over $1,500 in support of Surf & Turf Therapy! This event always brings new volunteers to our program and we are so grateful for the generosity and community spirit behind it.

Thank you for ending the year with us. We’re incredibly grateful to step into 2026 with such a supportive and uplifting community by our side 🤍
