Covenant Hills Treatment Center

Covenant Hills Treatment Center Breaking the Chains of Addiction for Over 30 Years For more than two decades, we have provided a unique alternative to traditional substance abuse treatment.

We specialize in the treatment of individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders and dual addictions, as well as those who may benefit from strong relapse prevention curriculum. We strongly emphasize the spiritual aspects of recovery in both our non-denominational Christian 12 Step program and in our Traditional 12 Step program tract. And, we provide all of this in completely gender-separate s

ettings. Our staff of skilled professionals administers the most sophisticated treatment available. Through lectures and individual counseling, we educate our clients on the psychological, physical and spiritual implications of long-term substance abuse. Using group counseling, individual counseling and psychotherapy, we help each client discover and effectively address emotional or psychological issues that might interfere with their recovery. And, we help each client determine and address their own unique relapse warning signs. Our staff encourages clients to establish or nurture their relationship with God. Clients may choose to participate in either our non-denominational Christian 12 Step program or our Traditional 12 Step program. In the Christian program we offer a Christ-centered, biblical approach to recovery, while in the Traditional program we present recovery based on God as the individual may understand Him (as presented in Alcoholics Anonymous). Clients requiring highly structured treatment are admitted to either our men’s or women’s Residential Inpatient Treatment program, usually for 30 days. For clients who have completed our Residential program and need the continued support of a sobriety-valued environment, we provide additional treatment in our Transitional Care program. Here clients prepare to transition into a healthy life in sobriety. Recovery plans are refined, goals are set and met and damages and issues caused by addictions are addressed. Clients enter our treatment programs with the knowledge that we have been providing outstanding treatment for over two decades and can be further comforted by our excellent credentials. We maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and have earned the highest accreditation from CARF International, the primary accreditation agency for rehabilitative treatment. We are affiliated with the America Association of Christian Counselors and are an Amen Affiliated Education Center (AAEC). All of our treatment facilities are state licensed and accredited. And, we are so confident in our ability to change lives, we offer a *guarantee to those who complete treatment with us. Thousands of people suffering from alcoholism, substance abuse and various behavioral disorders seek help everyday. Finding this help can be a very frustrating experience. Our crisis response counselors at Recovery Options, our sister company, will spend the time necessary to review the treatment alternatives, whether at one of our treatment facilities or elsewhere, that will best provide you or your loved one with the help they need. If you’re feeling stuck, tired, or just ready for something different… I want you to know there is a place for you here.

Our men’s residential program in San Clemente is designed to give you the space to step away from everything that’s been weighing on you and actually focus on getting better. Right by the ocean, in a calm and structured environment, you’ll be surrounded by a small group of men who are walking through the same things you are.

This isn’t just about stopping substance use. It’s about understanding yourself, healing what’s underneath it, and building something solid for your future with us to support you in that journey.

"My name is Monica T. My sobriety date is 04-03-2025. I have been an alcoholic since I took my first drink, the day I turned 21. Although I was able to go to college and hold respectable positions at jobs, I was never happy and could not stop drinking. I have 4 DUI's, lost jobs, ruined relationships with my loved ones, all because I could not leave my most toxic relationship, which was alcohol. I've been to 6 different treatments, multiple times since 2021. Unfortunately I was never able to stay sober. I came to Covenant Hills, broken, tired and hopeless. Covenant Hills helped to find the one thing I was missing, my relationship with God. With the assistance of the whole team, I was able to obtain the tools that I have today to stay sober and continue working a program of AA. They provided me with such a strong foundation that once I left, in July of 2025, I was able to continue my sobriety. I took my one year chip 04-03-2026. I have restored relationships that I thought were broken. I’m actively working with a sponsor who continues to help me and guide me daily. I’m working a full time job as a case manager and continue to live a sober life. Thanks to Covenant Hills, I’m finally happy and at peace. They really helped me when I had given up on myself. For that, I’m forever grateful."

Kratom: Natural Doesn’t Always Mean Safe

Kratom is often marketed as a “natural” alternative for pain relief, anxiety, or even opioid withdrawal—but the reality is more complex. While it comes from a plant, kratom acts on the brain in ways similar to opioids. This means it can be habit-forming, lead to dependence, and cause withdrawal symptoms when use is reduced or stopped.

At Covenant Hills, we’ve seen firsthand how kratom use can escalate. Especially for individuals with a history of substance use. Call us if you or someone you know is struggling with Kratom.

Moments of Gratitude: A Series

"I'm Brittany and I work in admissions at Covenant Hills. Today, I am grateful. 8 years ago, I couldn’t have imagined this life.

Grateful beyond words for Covenant Hills and the foundation it gave me in my recovery journey. Through active addiction, my world was so small but today, my life is bigger than I ever dreamed possible.

8 years sober. A life filled with joy, purpose, and peace ☀️

Raising my two beautiful kids and finally being the mom they deserve. I am surrounded by the most incredible friends and coworkers. And now, being able to give back and help others who are still struggling.

Recovery gave me everything addiction promised but never delivered. Today, I’m just grateful to be here. Grateful for this life. Grateful for a second chance. 🙏✨"

Moments of Gratitude: A Series

“I’m Denna and I’m the Director of Client Care for our women’s program. I am incredibly grateful to be celebrating 25 years of sobriety. A quarter of a century without a drink is something I definitely could not have imagined in my earlier days.

Recovery gave me a life that is bigger, fuller, and a lot more meaningful than what I believe was possible. It was truly an honor to share my story at a charity event for the recovery center that once helped me get on my feet. Being able to give back and help raise funds so others, especially those who may not have the resources, can find the same path to recovery is something I never take for granted.

These days my life is filled with purpose, a great team I get to lead, my beautiful family, and the daily reminder that sobriety did not just give me my life back, it gave me a much better one than I had planned. I am grateful every day that I get to be part of helping others start their own recovery journey.”

Moments of Gratitude: A Series

“My name is Tayler, and I’m the Marketing Director at Covenant Hills. This week, I’m reflecting on the many things I’m grateful for such as my family, my community, and the beauty of God’s creation.

I’m also deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve in a role where I get to help connect people to healing. I don’t take for granted being part of a mission that supports individuals as they work through pain, trauma, and addiction to pursue transformation and recovery. Having a daily gratitude practice keeps me grounded and consistently in awe of what God can do.”
