Something new is waiting for you at our Costa Mesa location! โœจ

We've installed an interactive chalk wall inspired by artist and her beloved Before I Die project, which invites people around the world to remember and share what matters most to them in public spaces.

Our version asks a different question: "I'm Walking Into..."

What are you walking into?
A new season?
A hard conversation?
A version of yourself you've been calling forward?
A love you're finally ready to receive?

Pick up a piece of chalk. Write it down. And know that we are walking alongside you. ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’œ

When you visit, share your moment and tag us, we want to witness what you're stepping into!

The research on grief is changing everything we thought we knew.

Continuing Bonds Theory and Induced After-Death Communication (IADC) research both point to the same finding: people don't heal grief by severing their connection to who they've lost. They heal by transforming it, by finding ways to sense, remember, and relate to their loved one in a new form.

Walk Intuit's upcoming 6-week grief group is built entirely around this framework. Led by Maranda MacDonald, a therapist trainee with training in both philosophy and mediumship, each session moves from grounding into experiential practice and closes with reflection, giving you tools you'll carry long after the group ends.

This is grief work that doesn't ask you to say goodbye.
It asks you to stay in relationship, differently.

Your body remembers, and it knows how to heal.

Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach to healing that works with the nervous system, not just the mind.

The word somatic simply means "of the body," and at the heart of this work is the understanding that our experiences, especially overwhelming or traumatic ones, don't just live in our thoughts. They live in our tissues, our breath, our posture, and our felt sense.

Much of our work and what we lead our clinicians in is rooted in Somatic Experiencing (SE), developed by Dr. Peter Levine. This approach gently invites you to notice what's happening inside, sensations, impulses, rhythms, and subtle shifts, without rushing toward resolution or re-living the past.

Rather than retelling the story, we track the body's story.

Ia session, you might be invited to:
๐ŸŒฟ Place a hand on your chest or belly and simply notice
๐ŸŒฟ Follow a sensation with curiosity rather than judgment
๐ŸŒฟ Allow space for the nervous system to complete what it couldn't finish before

This is slow, intentional, titrated work.

Not forcing.
Not fixing.
Just gently accompanying the body as it finds its way back to resonance, aliveness, and ease.

Healing doesn't always look like insight.

At Walk Intuit, somatic approaches are woven throughout our trauma-informed care, on the ground, with the horses, and in the therapy room.๐Ÿ’œ

โ€œFineโ€ is not a feelingโ€ฆbut itโ€™s a starting point! ๐ŸŒ€

Meet Christine Evans, one of our incredible clinicians here at Walk Intuit ๐Ÿดโœจ

Christine is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (supervised by Jennifer Schilling, LPCC #1544) who brings a whole toolkit to the healing space: EMDR, DBT, expressive arts, sand tray, and equine-assisted psychotherapy. She specializes in trauma, CPTSD, anxiety, eating disorders, and neurodivergence, and she shows up for the LGBTQIA+ community with full affirmation. ๐ŸŒˆ

And in this Reel? Sheโ€™s breaking down one of her favorite tools: ๐ŸŽก The Feelings Wheel

Because โ€œI feel fineโ€ deserves a better answer, and your nervous system agrees.

The feelings wheel helps you move past surface-level emotions and get curious about whatโ€™s actually happening underneath. Overwhelmed? Anxious? Shut down? Letโ€™s get specific. ๐Ÿ”

When we can name it, we can work with it. Thatโ€™s where real healing begins.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Save this for the next time youโ€™re not sure what youโ€™re feeling.

At Walk Intuit, we believe that exceptional care begins with exceptional support for our clinicians. ๐ŸŒฟ

Our team doesn't just show up to do the work, they're held, resourced, and continuously developed through comprehensive training and supervision.

What our clinicians receive:
โœจ Multiple supervisions per week, including somatic supervision, equine supervision, and personal development support
๐Ÿ“š Extensive clinical library with resources available for borrowing and deepening learning
๐ŸŽจ Training and consulting opportunities in experiential interventions, including art therapy, somatic work, sand tray therapy, play therapy, parts work (IFS), depth-oriented approaches, and attachment theory
๐Ÿด Equine-assisted therapy training to integrate horses as co-facilitators in healing
๐Ÿง  Ongoing professional development that honors the complexity of trauma-informed care

We believe that clinicians who are well-supported, well-resourced, and continuously learning offer the kind of care that creates lasting transformation.

Our team is deeply committed to the work we do. And we're just as committed to making sure they have everything they need to do it well.

This is what it looks like to invest in the people who invest in healing. ๐Ÿ’š

What if grief isn't about letting goโ€”but about learning a new way to hold on?

This spring, Walk Intuit is offering a 6-week therapeutic grief group grounded in something the research keeps showing us: people heal most deeply when they feel their loved one is still with them.

Not as a fantasy.
Not as denial.

But as a transformed, continuing relationship.

You don't have to say goodbye. You just have to learn a new way to say hello. ๐Ÿ’™
