What’s at the heart of FCNI is also what makes us different: our programs.

We have 20+ distinct programs. And each one has been thoughtfully designed to respond to the real-life needs of you--our community. When experiencing homelessness, foster care, life crises, mental health needs or the impact of trauma, we have the team and the skills that promote healing and increase independence. Each program reflects our belief that care should be personal, practical, and built on relationship.

Today, our Wellness Committee created a meaningful mid-day reprieve for FCNI staff with a sound bath experience led by Jon from Let's Get Tuned Sound & Yoga Studio, helping them to focus on rest, reflection, and renewal.

Moments like these remind us that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. We’re grateful for a team—and a culture—that values wellness, balance, and the mindset of those doing the important work of transforming lives.

We loved getting to host this week's SLO Chamber Mixer!

Thank you, San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to welcome you and our community to our SLO Headquarters. And thank you to all the Chamber members and guests who joined us—your energy, curiosity, and connection was a true reflection of how strong and committed our SLO community truly is. We also want to say a heartfelt thanks to all of our direct service staff who came to share their stories and impact with everyone--you were all so inspirational!

And lastly, we want to give a special thank you to our food and wine partners Old SLO BBQ Co. and Cass Winery who fed and hand poured throughout the evening.

We want to share a huge thank you to Matt's Ukulele Club and Matt's Music, Stage & School for their incredible heart and dedication to our community!

Through their fundraising efforts, club members raised support for children and families served by Family Care Network, and showed us that when community comes together, amazing things happen.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

His vision of the Beloved Community calls us to work together, to create spaces of comfort and connection, and to ensure the voices of those with less power are valued and raised up.

As we reflect on his life and purpose, we are reminded that standing together to bring hope wherever there is darkness is something each of us can do.
