We were proud to participate in Advocacy in Action Day in Sacramento, where our CEO (Jeff) and COO (Jon) had the opportunity to meet with Assemblymember Dawn Addis alongside partners from Pacific Clinics .

Together, we shared the work and impact of Family Care Network and discussed the importance of continued support for the most vulnerable children, youth, and families in our community.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to advocate, collaborate, and help elevate the needs of those we serve today at the state capitol.

Thank you, California Alliance of Child and Family Services for organizing! 💙

“I am SO grateful for the support of our community, that allows us to fill in the gaps and needs that our youth vulnerably share with us. And grateful to work within such a fun caring team, and solid organization!”

—Monica, Program Supervisor at Family Care Network

We're so lucky to have our team members--like Monica--who show up every day with compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to the youth and families they support. Whether it’s responding to immediate needs or celebrating progress, their work starts from a place of hope and the belief that everyone is capable of achieving their goals.

We’re grateful for the dedicated staff who make this work possible—and for the strong, supportive team culture they help create. 💙

Because of you, a young person had the opportunity to take guitar lessons, turning their love of music into a way to process and express their emotions.

Enrichment like this matters. When youth are given the tools and the space to express themselves, they’re able to work through whatever it is they're feeling, build up their confidence, and find their voices.

Thank you for making opportunities like this possible through your support of Family Care Network 💙

There’s a common myth about social work: that the job is so hard you have to be “extraordinary” to do it.

In reality, social workers are people who care deeply about people, believe in the power of compassion, and show up every day ready to listen, advocate, and help. In this reel, Estefania, one of our devoted social workers, shares her perspective and helps break down this misconception.

Social work isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being present and building strong, trusting relationships with people to better support them. And sometimes there's even pizza!

Watch the reel to hear Estefania's thoughts 💙

Swipe to see the transformation. ➡️

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, one of our foster homes will soon have a much-needed in-unit laundry space—making daily life easier for the youth and caregivers who call this house home.

Projects like this may seem simple, but the difference they make are immediate and substancial. Having access to clean clothes, towels, bedding, etc. in the home means the family has more time to focus more on what matters most: providing stability, unconditional care, and therapeutic support to those in their care.

We’re incredibly grateful to the donors and partners who have funded this important project. Their commitment to meeting critical needs will not only improve the lives of those in this home today, but into the future as well, ensuring more local youth will be provided safety and compassion. 💙

We’re always grateful for opportunities to connect with the next generation of nonprofit leaders. Recently, our CEO, Jeff, had the chance to speak with students in the Management of Nonprofit Organizations course at our very own Cal Poly, sharing insights from his experience leading Family Care Network and working in the nonprofit sector.

From discussing the realities of nonprofit leadership to answering thoughtful questions about serving our community, Jeff enjoyed his time speaking with the class. We're hopeful that by highlighting the impact nonprofits--like FCNI--have in people’s lives, we can inspire purpose-driven professionals!

Thank you to the students and faculty for the warm welcome—we loved the chance to connect and share our mission.

Nearly every program at Family Care Network involves the hard work of one or more dedicated social workers, helping individuals and families navigate challenges, access resources, and move forward in their healing and stability.

From supporting youth in foster care to helping families strengthen their bonds, to moving a youth close to independence, social workers are often the steady presence that guides people through difficult moments while cheering their progress along the way.

We’re grateful for the compassion, expertise, and commitment our social workers bring to FCNI and those in our care every day. Their impact is felt across nearly every corner of our organization—and throughout the lives of the people we serve. 💙

Join us in thanking the social workers who help make hope and healing possible in our community--share and comment!

We were honored to welcome members of the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo to Family Care Network’s headquarters for a special lunch, inviting guests to learn more about how we serve our community's most vulnerable individuals and families.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share more about our mission, and demonstrate the importance community collaboration plays in meeting the ever evolving needs of local youth and families. Partnerships, like the one we have with the Rotary Club is essential to our impact, our team, and those we serve.

Thank you to the many Rotary members who joined us, asked great questions, and helped further all of our commitment to strengthening our community. 💙

What do you think when you hear “social worker"?

Social Work isn't one role. At Family Care Network, our social workers are therapists, advocates, mentors, crisis responders, and community connectors, sometimes all in the same day.

They walk alongside youth navigating trauma.
They help families stabilize during a crisis.
They coordinate housing, healthcare, education, and mental health support.

Social work is about more than intervention. It’s about providing clarity at times of immense uncertainty.

This month, we’re raising awareness of the powerful, often unseen work happening every day in our community through our social work team. 💛

Tag your favorite Social Worker in the comments to show them your appreciation!

We’re grateful for strong community partnerships that help move our mission forward. 💙

Family Care Network’s CEO (Jeff) and COO (Jon) recently had the opportunity to host Supervisor Dawn Ortiz-Legg at our headquarters in SLO, enjoying a thoughtful and productive conversation about how we serve our community today as well as our future plans.

We deeply appreciate Supervisor Ortiz-Legg’s partnership, leadership, and commitment to strengthening our community. We've said it before--we count ourselves very luck to live and work in such a collaborative and compassionate place as our county.
