The film follows several high school students as they tell the heartbreaking truth their peers and families experienced with Fentanyl poisoning. Shot from the perspective and experiences of high school students in Santa Clara County, Fentanyl High explores the brain chemistry behind why Fentanyl kills and how easily it can get into the hands of teens.

The film also explores how teens deal with emotional pain, navigate high school party culture, and are at risk of buying fake pills pretending to be Adderall, OxyContin, Percocet or Xanax on social media.

This event is meant for students in SLO County and parent/caregiver participation is encouraged. Please visit our website for more information: slocounty.gov/fnl

is this weekend which means brighter mornings and darker evenings (and maybe some grogginess)! Our healthy reminders:

👀 Check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (replace batteries if needed). When it’s chilly out, we may use heat sources that produce carbon monoxide in the home.

🌙 Be cautious getting home in the evenings as rush hour becomes darker.

⏰️ Prioritize a healthy sleep routine: 7-9 hours and try to be consistent with the time you go to bed and wake up each day to help your body’s internal clock. ✨Tip: ✨ A little time outside during the day can increase your serotonin levels and help regulate your sleep!

🧘🏻‍♀ Prioritize self-care that helps you relax, like exercise, meditation, or spending time in nature.

Behavioral Health proudly held the 41st Adult Drug Court graduation this month, celebrating 10 clients who successfully completed the program🥳. Family, friends, and support staff clapped, hollered, hugged, and cried as graduates were called up one by one to receive their certificates.🎓

Staff took to the podium to speak, including Behavioral Health Specialist Dave Davis who stressed how big of an accomplishment clients had achieved saying, “When people come into this program, there’s more people who don’t make it, then make it. Recovery takes a village and I’m lucky enough to be a part of that village.” Behavioral Health Program Supervisor Lillian Jensen, LPCC, noted that the program includes both “Inner and outer life changing accomplishments; completing this program is no small feat.” 💪

Several clients also spoke about going through the program, mentioning it saved their lives. One participant, achieving two years of sobriety, shared they “learned how much more there is to life. I have healthy friendships, a job, and get to enjoy life again.” 💜

🎤One graduate even preformed an original song to celebrate their recovery- it’s playing in this post!

Thank you to Honorable Judge Michael Frye and all our agency partners who support these programs, and to all the clients past and present who show our community resiliency exists and recovery is possible!
