The CHRISTUS Santa Rosa San Marcos Foundation’s 2026 Stars of Texas Gala, presented by H-E-B, raised an incredible $274,000 in support of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos.
These funds will directly benefit Women’s Services and help purchase new equipment for the surgery department, strengthening care for our community. Held April 11, this elegant evening honored our firefighters, law enforcement, EMS and 911 personnel—the everyday heroes who serve with courage, commitment and sacrifice.

With musical energy from the Texas Jamm Band, featuring members of George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band, it was truly a night to remember. Thank you to every sponsor, donor and attendee who helped us make a difference for our community.

Results between 100 and 399 indicate early-stage disease with moderate plaque, and mild coronary artery disease is highly likely, while readings of 400 or higher signal advanced disease and may require a same-day visit if the score reaches 1000. These categories help patients understand their results so they can discuss next steps with their doctor.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are celebrating women saints like Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Born Edith Stein in 1891 into a Jewish family, she was a brilliant philosopher whose search for truth led her to Catholicism after reading the writings of St. Teresa of Ávila. Entering the Carmelite order, she continued to offer her intellect and faith to the Church amid rising N**i persecution. Arrested in 1942 and sent to Auschwitz, she died in the gas chambers, offering her life in solidarity with her people. Canonized in 1998, she is honored as a philosopher, mystic and modern martyr whose courage and conviction continue to inspire generations.
