After feeling trapped for years by weight (ballooning to over 300 lbs) and sized out of clothes at normal stores, I came to the opinion that the goal of trying to lose weight for it’s own sake was hopeless. This realization lead me to search for what my actual goals in life were and to try to create tools to help incorporate healthier habits in service to those goals. After losing 90lbs and counting I’m excited to share the multi-faceted approach I used start living with more joy and mindfulness and less self-judgement and stress.
Instead of a specific plan with unsustainable diet and exercise goals for the purpose of losing weight, we will focus on continuous, incremental transformations towards self-actualization. We will practice using mindfulness self-compassion, stress reduction, sensible eating, habit forming techniques, sensible exercise, cognitive behavior therapy, time management, communication skills , boundary setting and community support as tools to enable more conscious decision making directed at creating and sustaining the life you want to live.
