Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men ages 15-35. The good news? It's also one of the most treatable—especially when caught early.

"I encourage all young men to perform monthly self-exams," explains Parth K. Shah, M.D., Urologist at Texas Urology Specialist—Fort Worth Clearfork. "You know your body better than anyone. If something feels different—a lump, swelling, or heaviness—don't brush it off. Come see us."

What to look for:
• A painless lump or swelling in either testicle
• A feeling of heaviness in the sc***um
• A dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin
• Sudden fluid collection in the sc***um

Know your body. Trust your instincts. Get checked if something feels off.

More than a groundbreaking—it's a promise kept.

We recently celebrated a major milestone with the groundbreaking of our expanded Texas Oncology-Deke Slayton Cancer Center in Webster. This transformation will bring comprehensive cancer care—medical oncology, radiation therapy, gynecologic oncology, transplant and cell therapy services, and support services—all under one roof. Because we believe the right care shouldn't require our patients to travel far from home.

Here's to breaking through walls AND barriers to care.

Texas Oncology was proud to sponsor the 26th Texas Conference for Women—an incredible gathering of connection, inspiration, and empowerment.

Our Executive Vice President, Debra Patt, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, took the stage as host of a Power Talk session: "Beyond Anxiety: Finding Purpose in Uncertain Times," introducing best-selling author Martha Beck. In her remarks, Dr. Patt reflected on how uncertainty—whether in life or in a cancer diagnosis—can be met with resilience, purpose, and the strength to move forward, themes that guide our work at Texas Oncology every day.

Throughout the day, we were moved by the many women who stopped by our booth to share their stories, their journeys, and their hope. Those conversations are what this work is all about.

The conference brought together more than 8,000 attendees and incredible voices, including Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Charles Duhigg, Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman, and marketing innovator Bozoma Saint John. Dr. Patt is pictured here with Martha Beck and world-renowned author and podcaster Mel Robbins.

We're honored to stand alongside the incredible women of Texas. Here's to many more years of empowerment! 💪

Student-athlete. Scholar. Future physician. 🏀👩‍⚕️

Texas Oncology recently welcomed University of Texas guard Jordan Lee to Texas Breast Specialists-Austin North, where she discovered what it means to practice medicine with purpose.

Jordan spent the morning observing patient consultations, learning how our multidisciplinary team collaborates on complex cases, and discovering the human side of healthcare that doesn't always make the highlight reel. Sherrie Thomas, M.D., FACS, our breast surgeon, shared insights about the emotional intelligence required to support patients through difficult diagnoses and was able to show Jordan the fantastic technology that goes into treating patients—like using ultrasound in the office to view breast masses in real time, as well as our TrueBeam radiation therapy system.

To Jordan and all student-athletes balancing academics, athletics, and career aspirations—we see you, we support you, and we're excited to welcome more of you into healthcare. 🤘

The future of medicine is bright.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we wanted to share something that captures what this month is really all about. 💗

The Susan G. Komen Foundation recently hosted their Big Pink Gala, and one of the auction items funded the full wig experience for three breast cancer patients/survivors—consultation, fitting, styling, everything.

We were honored when the foundation asked us to recommend Texas Oncology patients for this incredible gift. Their reactions? The emotions? This video says it all.

Awareness is important, but moments like these—where we can actually make a difference in someone's journey—that's what it's all about. It's about dignity, confidence, and helping our patients feel like themselves again during the hardest times.

To the Komen Foundation, the generous donor, the salon team, and these incredible women—thank you for reminding us why we show up every day. 💕

Meet Mandy 💙

When facing a breast cancer diagnosis, finding the right care team makes all the difference. Mandy Howland found that compassionate, person-centered care with Alison U. Barron, M.D., FACS, at Texas Breast Specialists-Stone Oak.

"They treat you like a person, not a disease."

Swipe to hear more about Mandy's journey and what made her feel truly seen, heard, and supported through every step of her treatment.

At Texas Oncology, we're committed to treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Because your story matters.

Every woman deserves to know: breast cancer is not a death sentence.

"I've had the privilege of walking alongside hundreds of women through their breast cancer journey, and what I've learned is this: early detection changes everything. When women come to me after finding something during a self-exam or routine mammogram, we often catch it at a stage where treatment is highly effective. But when they wait—when they ignore that lump or dismiss changes because they're 'too busy' or 'too scared'—the conversation becomes much harder. Please, don't let fear keep you from the care that could save your life." — Kathryn S. Norton, M.D., MBA, FACS, Breast Surgeon, Texas Oncology

Your life is worth the appointment. Schedule your screening today.

Your liver works hard for you—protect it.

This Liver Cancer Awareness Month, remember that prevention is powerful. Getting vaccinated against hepatitis B, limiting alcohol consumption, maintaining a healthy weight, and managing chronic conditions can all reduce your risk.

And if you're facing a liver cancer diagnosis, know that treatment options have advanced significantly. From targeted therapies to transplantation, our team at Texas Oncology provides comprehensive, personalized care.

You are not alone in this fight.

Understanding your personal risk could be the most important conversation you have this year.

"One of the first questions I ask patients is about their family history. If your mother, sister, or grandmother had breast cancer, your risk may be higher—and you may need to start screening earlier. But here's what many don't realize: most women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history at all. That's why screening is essential for everyone, regardless of risk factors."
— Diana M. Hook, M.D., Breast Surgeon, Texas Oncology

Understanding your risk is the first step. Talk to your doctor about your personal risk and what screening schedule is right for you.

Knowledge is power. Use it.
