If you choose to have an abortion, take the time to understand the risks of the abortion procedure, and make sure you’re willing and able to accept them. If you’ve already scheduled elsewhere to terminate your pregnancy, be sure to ask the following medical questions during the abortion consultation with the provider you are seeing
1. Will the doctor provide an ultrasound to make sure my pregnancy is not ectopic?
2. What will the abortion cost and what will that fee cover? Are there any additional fees?
3. What kind of procedure will be done? Describe the procedure in detail please.
4. Will the abortion be painful for me? If yes, how long will I be in pain? What kind of anesthesia will be available? How long will I bleed?
5. Will the doctor provide STD testing, RH testing, & ultrasound photos? If no, describe the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease, or hemolytic disease
Remember your health matters, and if the abortionist is unable to answer your questions, don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself and leave.
If you need clarity about your pregnancy before making any decisions, we’re here to help with no-cost pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and trusted information. Contact us at (760) 374-8786 to speak with a trusted staff. You are not alone. (Birth Choice of San Marcos does not offer or refer for pregnancy terminations or birth control. Is it important to know how far along I am in my pregnancy?
If you’re thinking about your options regarding your pregnancy, knowing how far along you are would be a key part of making an informed decision.
Your gestational age affects what options are available, what risks to consider, and what next steps are medically recommended.
An ultrasound can determine your gestational age, check for viability, and confirm the pregnancy is in the uterus.

Birth Choice offers free ultrasounds, chat with staff to get an appointment by calling or texting (760) 374-8786.

How early can you detect pregnancy?
As hCG levels build up (pregnancy hormones), it can show up in your urine by the day your period is due (which is about two weeks after the egg & s***m meet).
Most pregnancy testing kits can be used on the day you’re expecting your period; however, some sensitive pregnancy tests are capable of detecting pregnancy up to six days in advance.

A home test is a first step and we’re here for the next. Medical confirmation matters, schedule with us for accurate testing, clear answers, and compassionate care.

Myth: You can confirm your pregnancy without an ultrasound.

Fact: An ultrasound is the ONLY way to confirm location and viability of the pregnancy. It can confirm that the pregnancy is in the uterus and living.
