I “came home to visit”, and started consulting at Nova Recovery Center in Dec 2025. Nova was my last place of employment before starting my private practice. Inpatient residential treatment holds a special place in my heart. I am projected to be an à la carte staff there for the next couple of months. I am helping to rebuild and facilitate their Family Workshop Program that I originally created when I was their Clinical Director.
I am contributing side by side with my original ride or die as well, John Olrech, who I could not have run that program without. He is back there full time as the Program Director, and they are so lucky to have him. He’s seeking to build a stronger team, and is looking for staff. Reach out to me if you are interested, and I will forward you along.

Also, I’ll be open to new consulting gigs starting June 2026! Let’s talk!

Someone has reached all her hours require to upgrade to LPC! We are celebrating Amber Meegan, LPC Associate (not for long). You can find her at .birdandbranch providing services in San Antonio.

This means I have an upcoming slot for a new supervisee. Amber will be the *15th* supervisee I have upgraded to LPC (19 total supervised). I currently have 5 others in supervision right now. Our supervision group is dynamic and collaborative, with varying ages and specialties. Join us!

For this episode of Pinot For Your Thoughts, we are doing what we hope to be the first of many “Girl Dinners”.
We usually focus on playing trivia and yapping. While we will still do that, we also want you to come with your information and offerings to share! This will help everyone know who has openings, and what everyone specializes in.
I can’t wait to meet you!

As always, this is Dutch treat and sober friendly.

We wrapped our 40 hour Texas LPC Supervisor training on Sunday, and are planning our next one!
What time of year would make it most possible for you to take this training? Share your preference in the comments!

We started yesterday.
Although already hoarse this morning from yapping, I’m reminded that I really love this baby I made and sharing it with people.

I’d love to have you at the next training.

Some of the messages I get from a graphic like this, shows how much this message is needed. A reminder that we never know the depths of what it may take for some to get through the holidays, let alone year round. 🩷 these post always get crazy traction, some positive some not. This isn’t a debate on medication, this is a reminder that you never know what others are going through. Shame is not going to make someone’s mental health magically be “better”.

Medication can be a bridge and it also is 100% not for everyone. Two things can be true.

Reminder: Starts tomorrow 11/4!

Please consider donating cash to Hays County Food Bank if you are able, as cash can go much farther than goods.

You can find a wish list at:

https://haysfoodbank.org/give/

If you are unable to donate goods this month, we will be doing another drive at the beginning of Dec as well.

Thank you for helping us be in community.
Community, and values based action is the answer.

As you may know, many of our neighbors will have difficulty accessing food starting Nov 1, due to a suspension of SNAP benefits.

Although this feels, and is, big, we are choosing to focus on what we can control.
We will be accepting food donations from our clients, colleagues and community partners from Tues, Nov 4- Thursday, Nov 6, at our physical office (see graphic). We will deliver items to the Hays County Food Bank on Friday, Nov 7.

You can view the needs list for at: https://haysfoodbank.org/give/
