The holiday season can trigger depressive episodes for various reasons. Symptoms may include feelings of emptiness, hopelessness, sadness, tearfulness, irritability, and low energy. Professional help is available. Consult a therapist to manage depressive episodes. If you don't have a therapist, consider reaching out to your primary care physician or a helpline. While family and friends can offer support, they are not trained professionals and may unintentionally exacerbate your feelings.
