Supervisors Wanted: Guide the Next Generation of Depth-Oriented Therapists

The Community Institute for Psychotherapy (CIP) is seeking licensed clinicians to supervise graduate and doctoral students in a psychodynamic, depth-oriented framework.

Our work assists diverse, low-income, and underserved populations who might otherwise have limited or no access to mental health services. Your voluntary service supports our ongoing efforts to deliver healing and hope to individuals and families in greatest need.

As a supervisor, you will join a supportive community of clinicians, form new professional relationships, and stay connected to the heart of clinical work. Watching interns grow into thoughtful, skilled psychotherapists is profoundly rewarding and inspiring.

Our organization is dedicated to recruiting a diverse cohort of supervisors whose backgrounds mirror the communities we serve. We invite inquiries from supervisors of all cultural, racial, ethnic, linguistic, religious, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, and ability backgrounds.

At CIP, we believe that diversity enhances clinical training and supports the therapeutic process. Supervisors who provide different perspectives help our interns develop more effective and compassionate ways of working with the diverse client base we serve.

Supervisors allocate 1 hour per week for individual supervision on a pro bono basis and, in exchange, receive complimentary Continuing Education (CE) opportunities, participation in professional development seminars, and membership in our vibrant, collegial community.

The Community Institute for Psychotherapy (CIP) in San Rafael is seeking new supervisors to join our training program.
We are especially committed to recruiting a diverse group of supervisors whose backgrounds reflect the communities we serve. We welcome inquiries from supervisors of all cultural, racial, ethnic, linguistic, religious, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, and ability backgrounds.

At CIP, you’ll mentor graduate and doctoral students eager to deepen their skills in long-term, psychodynamic psychotherapy. Supervisors provide one hour per week of individual supervision (pro bono) and in return enjoy free CE opportunities, professional development seminars, and membership in our lively, collegial community.

We are particularly looking for supervisors who work with children & adolescents and/or adults, with orientations including Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic, Relational, Kohutian, and Jungian.

Adversity can cause us to give up hope that life can be different. In order to shift our mindset and capacity to deal with challenges and orient toward growth, we must accept what has been and turn toward the future. Not by ignoring our past, but by processing it meaningfully.
