They gathered in the kitchen to mix, measure, and create these delicious little treats together. There's nothing quite like the smell of fresh-baked goodness filling the halls.

Bridgehaven neighborhood residents have been enjoying some quality "kitty time" with these adorable plush companions. Each kitty comes with a tactile fidget blanket attached, providing extra sensory comfort and keeping hands happily busy. The snuggles are real, and so are the smiles! 😊💕

Holding a soft, comforting friend provides emotional comfort, reduces anxiety, and brings back cherished memories of beloved pets they once cared for. The tactile elements also offer gentle sensory stimulation, which can be calming and grounding throughout the day.

This week, the Garden Club got its hands dirty in the best way possible. They headed out to pick up some fresh plants and soil, then got to work sprucing up the garden beds. They had a blast digging in, planting, and watching the outdoor space come to life.

Gardening offers so many wonderful benefits. It provides gentle exercise, engages the senses, and gives a sense of purpose and accomplishment. The group is also in the planning stages of expanding to the surrounding patio areas—and they're thinking roses! Stay tuned to watch the garden grow...🌹

Bonjour! To wrap up a French-themed month, residents tried their hand at learning some basic French. They practiced vocabulary, matched words, and tested out their new linguistic skills. 🇫🇷🥐

Learning a new language—even just a few words—is wonderful for older adults. It challenges the brain, sparks curiosity, and opens the door to exploring new cultures. Plus, there's something so fun about trying to pronounce tricky words together and cheering each other on!

We hopped on the bus and headed to the iconic Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield for a fun adventure. Everyone got into the spirit, sporting the official workers' hats as they toured the facility and learned all about how these famous treats are made. Fun fact: it takes one whole week to make a single Jelly Belly!

And of course, no visit is complete without a stop at the gift shop, where they stocked up on their favorites. Thank you, Jelly Belly, for having us!

Live music is such a gift for older adults. Listening to familiar songs brings back memories, lifts spirits, and creates a warm, joyful atmosphere.

💕 Our young friends from the nearby Mark Day School stopped by AlmaVia of San Rafael recently for a heartwarming afternoon of crafting together. 💌🎨

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, everyone paired up to make adorable heart-shaped valentines! Glitter, stickers, and lots of giggles filled the room as residents and their tiny crafting partners created masterpieces for loved ones. The cuteness was off the charts! 🥰

Intergenerational visits like this are so incredibly valuable for older adults. Spending time with children brings pure joy, sparks energy, and reminds us all that connection has no age limit.

Going for gold at AlmaVia of San Rafael! 🥇 Residents and team members had a great time watching the 2026 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony, cheering on athletes from around the world as they paraded into the stadium. They then continued the celebration with an Olympic-themed happy hour to close out the day. The best part? Everyone took home a gold medal—including our beloved Buddy the dog! 🐕🏅

This month, the Garden Club has residents taking turns watering the plants and flowers daily to keep everything looking beautiful. Once a week, they gather to check on their growing collection. A big thank you to Yvonne for being the wonderful resident water girl.

Tending to plants provides gentle physical activity, encourages routine, and gives a real sense of purpose and accomplishment. Plus, working together as a club builds friendships and creates a shared sense of pride in the community's beautiful outdoor space.

Bonjour from AlmaVia of San Rafael! 🇫🇷🧅🧀 February's spotlight country is France, and what better way to kick things off than with some homemade French Onion Soup? Residents rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their aprons, and brought their cooking skills to the kitchen!

From caramelizing onions to layering that gooey, melty cheese on top, everyone pitched in to create this classic comfort dish. The aroma alone had the whole building ready for lunch!

Cooking activities like this are fantastic for older adults. Working together in the kitchen encourages teamwork, engages the senses, and gives everyone a chance to share tips and techniques from their own culinary experiences.
