What did self care look like for you yesterday? What would you like it to be in the next 24 hours? Go ahead and write it down now.

Writing down our goals or intentions at least doubles the likelihood that we will realize them.

For me in this next 24 hours:
1. I will walk twice when it’s not already going to happen anyway... maybe on a phone call and an extra around the block so it’s outdoors.
2. I will lay down on the floor and stretch and do one core strengthening exercise (I’m having low back pain.)
3. I will close my eyes 5 times today for between 10 sec and 10 min each.

I’m very active. So these are extra. My intention is to be aware that I am nurturing myself when I make these choices. Call it self care...or mindful .

A commitment to is my way of working in that realm of inner compassion. I’m working on turning kindly and lovingly toward the vulnerable places within.

Sometimes it’s easier to ignore that me... to forge ahead and just get things done.

I wonder if you can relate.

Would you sometimes rather ignore the tender places within?

Wish they would disappear or at least take a step back and let you live like “normal” people?

, instead, you get to embrace those parts of you. Be careful not to use your empathy to always take care of others before yourself. Especially you moms out there.
Emotional Leadership has to include embracing our tender, vulnerable, and even wounded parts. Turn in and look at them with a soft gaze and a soft ❤ heart. That is the inner compassion I wish for you my sensitive ones.

I love threes... they make nice manageable lists, but one is good, too. What will you do today to embrace and honor the you who needs you?

If you make 3 intentions, and they don’t all get done, guess what? You can move them to tomorrow’s list or change them? Nice thing about your list, your process: you are in charge.

Blessings,
Alane

Hard holidays.... Yep, they can be real butt kickers when you think, process, notice, and feel more than the majority!

👉What is hard?
FOMO/fear of missing out, since it’s all just too much.
💙What to do?
Create a description of your ideal holiday experiences, and read it out loud at the beginning of every day in December

👉What’s hard?
Your family members don’t understand you and are even mean sometimes.
💙What to do?
Write every one of them an unsent letter telling them exactly what they need to know. (Once you know, you will be able to take better care of yourself.)

👉What’s hard?
It’s all so exhausting.
💙What to do?
You are right. Your brain knows what’s best for you... honor the pull you feel to stay, home be quiet, and avoid shopping.

👉What’s hard?
It’s not just stress. Waves of sadness come over you.
💙What to do?
Take your joy vitamins. Create joy practices in your life. Practice Joy–it’s not a one and done, but I can help.

Sitting at a family meal? Holiday party sucking you in? You know how to lean in... your trait makes you do it automatically.

But you will be your best self and enjoy the holiday pressures more the more you LEAN OUT.

Support yourself and the sensitive kids around you... stand up during meals, leave the table, turn your chair backwards, help in the kitchen, walk the dog, take a nap in your car, look out the window.

How will you lean back to take care of your nervous system?

Reach out if I can help💙

We are going to have our Ask Alane Anything conversation on December 13th. Bring your questions or scenarios to get support.

All are welcome 🙏

My dear Parents, your little ones are being stretched beyond their limits.

My dear HSPs, can you relate? Are you also being stretched beyond?

I know it doesn’t make you feel any better, but I still have to say...

IT’S NORMAL TO FEEL THAT WAY, be you little or big.

Living in this HSP/HSC-unfriendly world takes it’s toll. But that’s why we need to make deposits into our toll account ahead of time.

You know what is right for you. Find what brings you a small moment of joy and do it often. Better yet, join me tomorrow for our HSP Tools and Topics: Co-regulation with Parents and Kids (and also with your inner sensitive ones).

All are welcome 💙
