Being unexpectedly thrown into the vortex of chronic illness can be shocking, debilitating and fraught with loss. The journey of healing and recovery can be so long and arduous. Too often, chronically ill people find themselves trying to cope with a situation they never have been in (nor ever wished to experience), without a road map.

This article I came upon offers offers a kind of road map that offers helpful tips for those living with chronic illness.

Finding out you have a chronic illness — one that will, by definition, never go away — changes things, both for you and those you love.

Are you feeling sad you don't have a partner/lover to celebrate Valentines Day with? That's a very common experience for single women around this holiday and often V-Day can feel depressing instead of celebratory. But it doesn't have to be that way. It can be an opportunity to celebrate your own love for yourself, which for most women isn't often practiced, because they are so busy taking care of others or bombarded by their verbose inner critics. Valentines day can also be a day to celebrate and cultivate self-love, whether you're single or partnered. Feeling consistent and unshakable love for oneself isn't easy for most people and isn't gained overnight, it can take a lot of practice. I found this great article which highlights mindful ways to cultivate self-love.

These 7 steps have helped me to expand in my consciousness and move to a place of actually feeling the love that already lies within.
