💪 Nourish Your Body: Protein Tips for Lactating Women & Athletes 🍼🏋️‍♀️️

Protein is key for recovery, growth, and overall health! Whether you’re a new mom breastfeeding or training hard for endurance events, getting enough protein can make a world of difference.

🌟 Quick Tips to Increase Protein:
1️⃣ For lactating moms: Studies suggest that lactating women need 1.7-1.9g per kilogram of body weight to maintain their muscle mass while providing adequate nutrition for the baby.
2️⃣ For athletes: The American College of Sports Medicine recommends 1.2-1.7g per kilogram of body weight per day for those lifting weights or training for endurance events.
3️⃣ Set smaller goals: Aim for 20-30g of protein per meal to hit your daily target.
4️⃣ Protein-packed snacks: Include protein in every snack. Think cheese, yogurt, beef jerky, clean protein bars, or protein powders added to smoothies or oatmeal.

➡️ Swipe to see some great protein sources and ideas!

You’ve got this! Whether you’re fueling your baby’s growth or crushing your fitness goals, protein is your best friend. Let us know how we can support you!

Did you know? 1 in 4 U.S. nonpregnant women reported experiencing one or more pelvic floor disorders between 2005–2010 (Wu et al., 2014), with urinary incontinence being the most common. Pelvic floor dysfunction is common, but it doesn’t have to be your norm. You deserve better. Visit our website to learn how Pelvic Path can help address your symptoms and support your journey to wellness. 💪

Which ones would you like to try out this week? 💚

P.S We always encourage working with a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist to better understand the root cause of any symptoms you may be experiencing of pelvic floor dysfunction, pain and discomfort. My Passion: Supporting Women, Supporting Ourselves

Have you said, or heard your mom/girlfriend/sister say...

-"Does anyone else leak a bit when you work out/laugh/sneeze/cough/do a "double under", etc...??? Is this NORMAL?"

-"Well sure, s*x is painful since having a baby- but that's normal, right?"
