Johanna Young is an Associate Clinical Social Worker who offers compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples throughout California. She provides a warm, inclusive space for healing, connection, and personal growth.
Johanna integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She has also completed educational training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which informs her understanding of trauma recovery and mind-body integration. Her clinical background includes work in inpatient and forensic psychiatric settings, as well as experience supporting older adults and seniors through grief, life transitions, and emotional adjustment.
As a member of the Transgender Evaluation Committee at Napa State Hospital, Johanna brings specialized insight into gender-affirming care and offers LGBTQ+ affirming therapy with cultural sensitivity and respect. She is passionate about supporting the transgender and LGBTQ+ community, helping clients strengthen self-acceptance, explore identity, and build emotional resilience.
Johanna believes therapy is a collaborative process rooted in authenticity, empathy, and empowerment—helping each client find meaning, balance, and confidence in their own story.
