At SolHaven Counseling Services, I support people.
All people.

Healing is not about political alignment. It is about safety, dignity, and being heard without fear.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my role is not to judge, silence, or shame. My role is to create a therapeutic space where individuals can regulate, process, grow, and make choices aligned with their own values.

I work with clients across a wide spectrum of beliefs, backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. Ethical counseling requires acceptance, professionalism, and respect for human complexity.

I believe:
• Every person deserves compassionate, evidence-based care.
• Every story deserves space.
• Growth happens in environments rooted in safety and accountability.

You do not have to agree with someone to treat them with humanity.
You do not have to share beliefs to provide ethical care.

My commitment is simple:
Support. Stability. Regulation. Healing.

If you are looking for counseling grounded in inclusion, acceptance, and clinical integrity,
I am here.

When a child struggles with emotional regulation:
Look at sleep.
Look at stress.
Look at trauma.
And yes…..look at screen time.

Chronic overstimulation can reduce frustration tolerance and increase reactivity.

If removing the device causes a meltdown, that’s not just “attitude.”
That’s nervous system dependency.

Regulation has to be taught.
And sometimes that starts with reducing the input that’s overwhelming the system.

Your teen isn’t “being dramatic.”
They’re navigating change with a still-developing brain and nervous system.

Transitions can activate:
• Fear of rejection
• Fear of failure
• Loss of identity
• Loss of control

Therapy gives teens a space to:
✓ Process change
✓ Learn coping strategies
✓ Build emotional regulation
✓ Strengthen communication

Supporting teens through transitions is preventative care.

Valentine’s Day can bring up a lot.
Love.
Grief.
Longing.
Relief.
Loneliness.
Hope.

Whatever today stirs in you; it makes sense.

At SolHaven, we believe love isn’t just romantic.
It’s boundaries.
It’s healing.
It’s rest.
It’s choosing yourself.

If today feels heavy, you’re not broken.
If today feels beautiful, soak it in.

You deserve a love that feels safe, including the one you give yourself.

“A child’s voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who’ve forgotten to listen.”
— Dumbledore

So many children who experience sexual trauma did speak through words, behavior, silence, fear, or anger.
Too often, the problem wasn’t their voice.
It was the adults who didn’t slow down enough to listen.

At SolHaven, we believe children deserve to be heard, believed, and protected.
Healing begins when we stop minimizing, stop explaining away, and start listening with our whole hearts.

Let this be your reminder:
✨ Listen beyond words
✨ Notice behavior as communication
✨ Create safety before asking for truth

Because when a child is finally heard, everything can change.

✨ Gentle reminder:
Don’t take for granted the basic care your body needs to regulate.

Before we ask ourselves to cope, heal, or “push through,” check the basics:

😴 Sleep – rest is regulation, not laziness
🥗 Eating – fuel is emotional support
💧 Drinking water – dehydration = stress on the body
🚶‍♀️ Body movement – movement helps emotions move too

These aren’t extras.
They’re the foundation your nervous system needs to feel safe.

Start small.
Care for the body → the mind follows. 💛

Let’s talk about sunshine.
And no, not in a “toxic positivity” way.

Sunlight is literal medicine for your nervous system.
It helps regulate sleep, mood, hormones, and even anxiety levels. When we’re low on sunshine, our bodies feel it — mentally and physically.

✨ Sunshine helps with:
• Vitamin D production
• Serotonin (your mood stabilizer)
• Better sleep rhythms
• Reduced stress and fatigue
• Improved focus and emotional regulation

You don’t need a beach day or a perfect routine.
Even 5–15 minutes of natural light can make a difference.

🌿 Try this:
• Step outside with your coffee
• Sit by a window with real sunlight
• Take a short walk (no pressure, no pace)
• Let the sun hit your face — safely & briefly

Sometimes healing isn’t another coping skill.
Sometimes it’s letting the sun remind your body: you’re safe, you’re alive, you’re here.

Go get a little light today. ☀️
Your nervous system will thank you.

Snowed In = Safety First ❄️

When the weather keeps us home, safety isn’t just about the roads — it’s about our nervous systems too.

✨ Slow the pace
✨ Lower expectations
✨ Build in extra patience

Kids (and adults) feel the shift in routine. Big emotions can show up faster when we’re stuck inside. That’s not misbehavior — that’s stress.

A few gentle reminders:
• Predictability = safety
• Regulation starts with us
• Connection comes before correction
• It’s okay if today looks different than planned

If everyone is fed, warm, and safe — you’re doing enough. 🤍
Snow days are for grace, not perfection.

✨ The Benefits of Singing Bowls in Therapy ✨

At SolHaven, we believe healing happens not just through words—but through the body and nervous system too.

Singing bowls offer a gentle, grounding way to support clients by:

🌀 Calming the nervous system – The vibrations help shift the body out of fight-or-flight and into rest and regulation
🧠 Reducing anxiety & stress – Sound waves can slow racing thoughts and promote mental clarity
💛 Supporting emotional release – Clients often report feeling lighter, more open, or deeply relaxed
🌿 Enhancing mindfulness & presence – Sound anchors awareness in the here and now
🫶 Creating safety in the body – Especially helpful for trauma-informed therapy and sensory regulation

Sound therapy can be a powerful complement to talk therapy—meeting clients exactly where they are.

✨ Sometimes, healing doesn’t need words. It needs vibration, rhythm, and space to breathe. ✨
