Community Health Care Systems (CHCS), a federally qualified health center network serving communities across middle Georgia, is proud to announce that the Georgia House of Representatives has passed a resolution honoring Dr. Keisha Callins, Chief Wellness Officer, for her exceptional contributions to the State of Georgia. The resolution celebrates Dr. Callins' unwavering commitment to expanding and improving access to women's healthcare services — particularly in rural and underserved communities. Through CHCS, she oversees clinics in Twiggs and Jones counties, bringing quality care to patients who might otherwise go without.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Callins serves the broader health of all Georgians through her membership on the Georgia Composite Medical Board, the Sandra Dunagan Deal Early Language and Literacy Board, and the Georgia Maternal and Infant Health Commission. The Georgia House resolution adds to a growing list of well-deserved honors for Dr. Callins, who has also been recognized as the UAB School of Public Health Alumna of the Year, named among the Georgia House of Representatives' 100 Phenomenal Women, celebrated as a Healthcare Hero by the Macon Volunteer Clinic, and named the Inaugural Sandra Dunagan Deal Rural Service Fellow. Those who know and work with Dr. Callins consistently point to her integrity, fairness, and genuine kindness as hallmarks of both her character and her care.
"We are incredibly proud of Dr. Callins — she is a true leader in women's healthcare, not just within CHCS, but across the entire state of Georgia," said Carla Belcher, Chief Executive Officer of Community Health Care Systems. "This recognition reflects the depth of her commitment to ensuring that every person, and especially every woman, has access to the healthcare they deserve. She is not only an outstanding physician, but an exceptional human being, and we are honored to have her as part of the CHCS family."
