Isn’t it interesting how truly GREAT ideas or breakthroughs hit us when we are not consciously mulling over the issue? Inspiration rarely hits right when we need it to. It seems to always hit hard when our minds are at rest. It’s like our brilliance needs a moment of silence, solitude or rest to really break through all of the noise and clutter.
For me the best solitude to calm my mind is in nature walking or hiking, or on my paddleboard. My mind clears away the noise, making room for creativity, and ideas just start to flow! Nature and intentional powering down is so powerful to help our minds release the clutter.
There was a time in my life though, when I protected myself from thinking too much because it was too painful. Walks in nature were delightful and relaxing, but not inspiring. I wasn’t comfortable with my thoughts at the time, and couldn’t face the grief I was holding onto. My faith and prayer kept me holding on, but I needed more–my physical body needed to release the pain and fear.
That’s when I discovered reflexology. At my second session, something in my nervous system released and I was able to begin processing small bites of my grief.
Our feelings (grief, stress) directly affect our physical bodies, and vice versa. There’s a reason you may feel physically or emotionally stuck. Reflexology can help with that.
If you need a safe place to allow your nervous system to recover a bit, give me a call and we can discuss if reflexology is a good fit for you. You will be glad you did.
